We’ve come to one of our favorite parts of running TWIA, our regional awards events. We’ve hit the road today, and we’re currently experiencing the joys of Newport Pagnell services on the M1 as we head to Durham for the Yorkshire & North East Regional Awards event tomorrow, the first of 8 events taking place in November. Watch the video for Damian’s snacks of choice 😁
Tomorrow, we’ll be at the wonderful South Causey Inn to announce and present the Yorkshire & North East regional winners, and we can’t wait!
Putting faces to names and bringing together like-minded wedding business owners at the top of their game, in a supportive and engaging community is the culmination of months of hard work back at TWIA HQ and of course, all your hard work over at weddings all over the country in the last year.
There is something really very special about the atmosphere and our awards events, and there is nothing quite like being in the room to share the excitement.
And who knows? If you’re a finalist, all that hard work, skill, and dedication may lead to you being announced as a regional winner and receiving one of our brand new designed regional winner trophies and one of our little badges of honour. Imagine how great that would feel. So, bring it on!
We can’t wait to see you all at the regional awards events and to celebrate with all the finalists and their guests. For tickets and full event info, head over to our website and click on Regional Events. (Link in comments)

The Wedding Industry Awards National Awards event is the biggest night in the UK wedding industry. Since we started the awards in 2011, the National Awards event has always taken place in London, but that is set to change in January 2026.
Our National Awards event will take place in a different, iconic British city, a city that is world famous for its history, its places, its music, its heritage, its sport.
On 21st January 2026, The Wedding Industry Awards National Awards event will take place in Liverpool at The Adelphi Hotel.
🎬 Thank you, Jason and Nicola at Bridal Sky

Our story
Damian and Anna Bailey set up TWIA to act as an industry voice offering a third source of advice to anyone organising a wedding. TWIA recognises and rewards excellence in the wedding industry and helps couples all over the country make better-educated decisions when booking their wedding suppliers.
Damian is an award-winning wedding photographer, recently having shot his 500th wedding and still shooting weddings week in, week out (www.damianbailey.com). Prior to his wedding photography career Damian was in event management running both his own event company and working for other companies organising conferences and Awards all over the world. Anna, is also from a strong event management background.
Damian and Anna recently followed their own advice, entered TWIA into a business awards and WON!
For the last 13 years, Damian has been photographing weddings all over the country, pretty much every weekend. No wedding supplier sees more of a wedding than the photographer. He or she sees almost all other types of wedding supplier and their work from florists and make-up artists right through to caterers, DJs and bands. From the bride getting ready right through until well into the dancing, the photographer is there.
Week in, week out Damian sees talented, dedicated people working hard to help couples create fantastic weddings. The differences between wedding suppliers is considerable but the price point and marketing is often very similar. Couples organising their weddings rely on marketing by wedding suppliers and word of mouth recommendations from their friends, family or their wedding venue amongst others.
The Wedding Industry Awards ensure that there is a credible and reliable independent regional and national awards process and events. These are the only client-voted regional and national awards in the wedding industry and our judging panel is second to none in its breadth and depth of expertise and experience. This means that the results have real meaning and are useful to both the entrants and anyone organising a wedding and looking for great wedding suppliers both regionally and nationwide. We want to help anyone organising a wedding to make better educated decisions when looking for their suppliers.
If you are a wedding supplier, wouldn’t it be great if couples could see that you'd been involved in TWIA or maybe even won or been shortlisted for an award for your dedication, skill and hard work? That you are great at what you do not just because you say so but because your clients say so and because our expert judging panel agree?
If you are organising a wedding and are confronted with a long list of potential suppliers, which would you book? The one who has entered, been shortlisted or won an award based on what their previous clients and our expert industry judges have said about them, or one of the others? Winning an award wouldn't be the only reason to book but it would certainly help, right?
We are proud that the TWIA logo has become a mark of the highest quality coveted by wedding suppliers all over the country and, most importantly, by couples getting married - A "kite mark" for the wedding industry.
