TO WEDDING INDUSTRY HAIR STYLISTS
A gentle reminder to all wedding suppliers, particularly HMUA teams.
Public Liability Insurance, PAT testing and occasionally RAMS are not “difficult planner requests”. They are venue compliance requirements designed to protect couples, guests, venues and suppliers themselves.
As venues become more health & safety conscious, particularly heritage venues, dry hire venues and luxury venues, suppliers are increasingly being asked to provide documentation ahead of wedding days. This is now, and has been, standard operational practice across much of the industry for quite some time.
Professionalism is not just about talent. It is also about preparation, organisation and being able to provide the required paperwork quickly and calmly when requested.
A wedding morning should never become stressful because basic compliance documents are missing at the last minute.
The best suppliers make life easier for couples, planners and venues alike by having:
• Valid PLI
• Up to date PAT certification for electrical items 12 months and older
• OR a valid purchase receipt for electrical items 12 months and under
• RAMS where required
• Contracts and documentation readily available
Being organised behind the scenes is every bit as important as the beautiful work you create in front of the camera.
The wedding industry is evolving. The suppliers who evolve with it will always stand out.
