A wedding is not just a big day for the couple.

Somewhere in the room is a mother (or two) quietly taking it all in.

The music begins, her child walks down the aisle and in that moment, decades of memories pass through her mind.

It’s pride, and joy, and if we’re honest, it’s also a small, tender goodbye to the little person she once held in her arms.

These moments are often felt quietly, from the sidelines, which is why the spaces around a wedding matter just as much as the aisle itself.

A comfortable chair. A place to pause. Somewhere to sit and watch the space fill with the people who have loved her child along the way.

For a mother, this day holds a lifetime of meaning.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, this week we’re raising a quiet toast to the mothers watching from the front row.

There’s something strange about looking back at work you poured years of yourself into.

At the time, you’re so busy doing — creating, holding, solving, shaping — that you don’t really stop to take it in. The weddings, the people, the trust couples placed in me during one of the most important seasons of their lives. It was never just about pretty details or well-run days. It was about people standing on the edge of something new and choosing how they wanted to step into it.

The W Studio held a lot of that. Big feelings. Brave decisions. Couples who quietly said, this matters to us, and built their day around their own vision and values. I was lucky enough to witness it and guide it.

What I’m realising now is that while this work was absolutely about the weddings, it was also about something deeper. Discernment. Confidence. Choosing your way, even when there are a hundred other ways being offered to you.

This chapter isn’t being erased.
It’s being honoured.
And gently, deliberately, brought to a close.

One Year on…

Wishing Kathryn and Ross a VERY Happy 1 year Anniversary.

What a wedding this was, set in the grounds of their stunning Georgian home in the Devon countryside, and designed to capture the most important details of their story. Weaving personal touches throughout every aspect of their day ensured it was not only unique and distinctive, but utterly beautiful and highly emotive.

🧡 H A P P Y A N N I V E R S A R Y 🧡

It's hard to believe that an entire year has passed since we witnessed the love story of and unfold at the enchanting Wilderness Reserve. Planning their wedding was not just an honour but an absolute joy, thanks to their kindness, humour, and their unique spin on tradition.

From the moment we embarked on this journey together, it was evident that Chessie and Mat wanted to create a wedding day that reflected their personalities and showcased the things that truly mattered to them. We had a blast brainstorming ideas, and came up with a plethora of unique concepts that made their special day extra memorable and 100% their own.

The standout features was the ‘orange cloud’ suspended from the ceiling of the orangery. It was a whimsical and vibrant touch that added a burst of colour and perfectly symbolised their playful spirits and zest for life!

Throughout the entire planning process, Chessie and Mat's infectious energy and genuine kindness shone brightly. They made every decision with love and intention, ensuring that their wedding was not only a celebration of their love but also an opportunity to create unforgettable memories for their guests. From personalised details to heartfelt speeches, every element was thoughtfully curated to make their loved ones feel truly cherished.

It was a privilege to witness the union of these two extraordinary souls, surrounded by their family and friends. Laughter echoed through the air, tears of joy were shed, and the dance floor was alive with celebration.

This was certainly a wedding that perfectly showcased the importance of embracing individuality. Chessie and Mat taught us that tradition can be reimagined, and that by infusing personal touches, a wedding becomes an authentic expression of the couple's unique journey.
