🥂 Check out Andrew & Edward’s blog - a celebration bursting with colour, confetti & non-stop fun.

Some weddings sparkle. Andrew & Edward’s?
It “shone.”

Set on the leafy grounds of Lancaster University, their day was the perfect mix of elegance, laughter, sass & silliness. From heartfelt vows to not one but “two” confetti moments (including the most gloriously awkward cannon flop 😂), every detail overflowed with love and joy.

Highlights?

📸A heron crashing portraits by the Lily Pond.
📸Smooth sax at cocktail hour.
📸 Suspect dancing haha
📸 Photo-cabin chaos (feather boas + oversized glasses = iconic).
📸 Golden-hour magic + a love-heart silhouette.

These two didn’t just throw a wedding - they created a celebration bursting with warmth, personality & that kind of love you can “feel.”

BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOGRAPHY

THE CHURCH COVERED IN SCAFFOLDING:

One of the most memorable situations I’ve ever faced was arriving at a beautiful old church on the morning of a wedding, only to discover it was completely covered in scaffolding. Nobody had mentioned it beforehand, and it wasn’t there on my original meetings with the couple

In that moment, I had two options: panic, or adapt.

It did look more like a construction site than a wedding venue and I knew that the couple had dreamed of romantic church photos, and I wanted to deliver on that - scaffolding or not.

Here’s how I handled it:

* I CHANGED MY ANGLES: Instead of wide shots that would include scaffolding towers, I focused on tighter compositions that highlighted the couple, the wedding party and the emotion in the moment.

* I FOUND ALTERNATIVE SPOTS: For portraits, I’d already scouted just outside the church and found small pockets, a stone wall, an archway, even a patch of greenery that framed them beautifully without showing the construction.

* REASSURANCE FOR THE COUPLE: Most importantly, I kept calm and reassured them that their photos would still be stunning. Confidence and problem-solving go a long way on a wedding day.

When they saw the final gallery, they were thrilled and admitted they had completely forgotten about the scaffolding when they looked back at their images. That’s when I realised just how important adaptability is in this job.
