VICTORIA SUMMER SHOWCASE * Come and say hey on Sunday at the Victoria where I will be ready to chat at their Summer Love Showcase from 11am to 3pm along with some other epic suppliers.
It's not only the Victoria you have the treat to wander around, as you can also pop in to view The Chimney House and the The Mowbray which are all within a short walk. I can't stress how beautiful all three of these venues are and how fabulous the team is.
Oh, and if that hasn't convinced you, if you pre-register you'll also get a glass of delicious punch.

MY COUPLES * I'm a few weddings in now for 2025 but haven't posted a photo with any of my couples yet - how rude of me! So kicking them off is a shot of me with Kathleen and James by Shaun Walker Photography who captured their day so beautifully.
They chose the incredible Victoria in Kelham Island and this afternoon I am heading to one of its sister venues The Chimney House for an intimate ceremony with another fabulous couple.

FEBRUARY WEDDING, ANYONE? I mean, is this not a great advertisement that you really can have your wedding at any time of the year?!
This cracking image of Kathleen and James taken by Shaun Walker Photography just over a week ago demonstrates how shorter days can work to your advantage and create a super special atmosphere and beautiful lighting.
Held at the stunning Victoria in Kelham Island, K&J's intimate ceremony celebrated the bride's Scottish roots with a tartan handfasting and the inclusion of a toast, drinking from a quaich.
Kathleen looked stunning in her Catherine Deane outfit, with flowers by Sweetpea & Thyme . Other shout outs to Makeup by Pacha and Edenic Hair & Beauty

THE WRAPAROUND * Claire & Craig's words are a reminder that I'm not solely about writing and performing an epic ceremony for you. There is so much more.
From recommending other suppliers, discussing your colours so my dress doesn't clash and finding out about your family dynamics to being there an hour before on the day to make sure enough seats have been left for the wedding party, checking last minute details and chatting with your elderly relatives who take a seat early. I am your cheerleader, your extra bridesmaid and a safe and experienced (but fun) pair of hands.
I love my job.

WEDMIN * With the kids back to school, this week has been all about catching up on all my wedding-related admin, so if you've made an enquiry (thank you ☺️) or if you're one of my couples waiting for a reply, thank you for your patience and I'm working my way through everything. January for me is about putting everything in place ready for some exciting events as well as weddings and vow renewals.

If you'd like to have a chat about what a game-changer a celebrant ceremony is I will be attending The Mowbray and Friends Winter Love Weekend on 25th/26th January in Sheffield. It is being held across all three of their gorgeous venues The Chimney House The Mowbray

I'll be posting more about this event soon.

In March, on Sunday 16th Hodsock Priory has also invited me to attend their Wedding Showcase as a trusted supplier.

I am well and truly looking forward to spreading the joy of being a celebrant!

CHEERS & HAPPY NEW YEAR * My final post of 2024 and it must be the biggest thank you to everyone I have worked with in the last 12 months.

Firstly, I raise a glass to my couples who have all been an absolute pleasure to get to know and collaborate with. Without you I wouldn't get to put on a frock, a face full of make up and share in your special day whilst aiming to make you and your friends and family laugh and cry happy tears. You are all awesome.

Secondly, tchin-tchin to every supplier I have had the joy of working alongside. You are all absolutely incredible at what you do and watching you at work reminds me how fabulous the wedding industry can be. Also to those of you who recommend me I am eternally grateful.

Thirdly (I said yesterday this would be an Oscars-style speech!) bottoms up to my friends and family who support me, love me and generally celebrate my highs and bolster me during the lows.

THAT'S A WRAP * I have been woeful at posting on social media this year but I like to think it's because ultimately it's more important that I'm working hard behind the scenes crafting and performing epic ceremonies.
So to (sort of) make up for it here are some of my wonderful couples who I have had the privilege of working with this year. Apologies if you didn't make it on, I wasn't able to grab a selfie with you all.
I'll leave my Oscar speech of thank you's until tomorrow but, as always, I hope everyone can see how much I love my job.

BOOKED! A RESTORATION MASTERPIECE * Sister to Sheffield's The Mowbray and The Chimney House, I am thrilled to say I have a couple of bookings already for the newly opened the first being in February!
Originally built in 1884 Victoria's renovation has been a labour of love and it shows. Every little detail has been thought through responsibly and sustainably.
I am so excited to perform my first wedding ceremony there for K&J in a few weeks and get a feel for the incredible spaces it offers.
Sheffield really does have the most incredible venues.
I love my job.

I’m Helen Jubb, and I conduct weddings, civil partnerships, funerals, vow renewals and naming ceremonies across the UK.

My ceremonies are personal, unique, and beautiful events. Individually crafted to celebrate a life - a new one, two souls coming together or a life lived. Let me tell your story with humour, compassion and most of all a smile.

From South Yorkshire…to Berkshire

I currently live in Sheffield, so am happy to travel across Yorkshire and Derbyshire. I spent the first half of my life in Berkshire, so with family and friends still living there I am happy to stay with them or travel further afield - I do love an adventure!

About Me

It's funny how life takes many twists and turns - but you usually end up right where you should be. Whether you believe that to be fate, chance or completely of your own making, it is important to embrace new challenges and do something that makes you happy.

I have been extraordinarily lucky to have enjoyed a full and varied life so far. Working as a journalist for ten years afforded me the honour and privilege of interviewing hundreds of people, many who had experienced tragedy and those who were elated following heroic achievements. Realising my strengths, and indeed passion, lay in building relationships, listening and helping others, I swapped journalism for a career in teaching and pastoral care in Further and Higher Education.

What led me to become a celebrant?

I came to this exciting decision after choosing to have a celebrant conduct the ceremony for my own wedding to my now-husband Ian. Working with her, we constructed the most beautiful and memorable service we could have wished for. The wonderful comments we received from our friends and family, won over by the personal nature of our ceremony, resonated with me and I couldn't stop thinking about helping others to celebrate their lives or relationships.

My ceremonies are personal and inclusive: they can be intimate, reflective, moving and special occasions, which are based on your story and your ideas about love and commitment. It can be completely non-religious, have elements of faith or rituals such as handfasting.

Being a celebrant is a hugely important part of my life – I get to work creatively with you to create a day that is truly about you and for you. I can adapt to your needs and wishes whilst making suggestions if required.
