It Rained, We Waited, They Said “I Do”!
Congratulations to Thea & Oli 🎉🎉

What a day at . Torrential rain in the morning had us all watching the skies, but Thea was calm, radiant and completely unfazed. With a bit of patience, the clouds parted just in time for their beautiful outdoor ceremony, surrounded by all their loved ones on the lawn.

The rest of the day was full of laughter, lawn games, doughnuts, ice cream, pizza and dancing. The kind of celebration you won’t forget.

Thea and Oli, thank you for having me there to capture it all. What an unforgettable day.

Still catching my breath from Arabella & Harry’s wedding this weekend. It was one of those rare days that felt big in every way, but also so personal, so full of heart.

From the moment Arabella stepped into her dress to their confetti-covered exit and that just-married getaway, the whole day felt like it was made for them.

There was joy, tears, a heatwave that didn’t stand a chance against the energy in the room, and a kind of celebration that only happens when every single person is genuinely rooting for the couple.

They laughed, danced, embraced, and soaked in every second. Not because everything was “perfect” in a staged way, but because they loved it, start to finish.

And when they finally drove off, excited and smiling ear to ear, it was the kind of moment that made you think: this is what it’s all about.

A day of love, laughter, and tears.

Sofia & Nathan tied the knot high above London on the 34th floor of The Shard at the stunning Shangri-La, with views stretching across the city, from St Paul’s to Tower Bridge.

Their day was as emotional as it was beautiful. Nathan’s beloved father, who played such a big part in planning the wedding, was deeply missed. His presence was felt in every moment. During the ceremony, tears flowed as Nathan & Sofia not only exchanged their own vows, but also surprised their parents by having their wedding vows from over 30 years ago read aloud. An unforgettable gesture that moved everyone to tears.

The evening continued with an outfit change and their first dance to Wish On An Eyelash by Mallrat x The Chainsmokers, a moment as magical as the rest of their day.

Truly honoured to witness and capture such a meaningful celebration. Thank you, Sofia & Nathan.

Revisiting an old favourite: Abi & Martin’s wedding at Pelham House. Captured three years ago and recently re-edited with my current signature look, introduced last summer. You’ll see the transition as the older edits fade out and the new look comes through.

It’s been a joy seeing these moments through fresh eyes. The connection, the atmosphere, the style — all still just as timeless.

Was just reminded of Berta gown, and honestly… still not over it. Even three years on, it remains one of the most striking dresses I’ve photographed. The detail, the silhouette, the way it moved……unforgettable.

Sharing some portraits that show off the dress in all its glory, and a couple of Ana and Mike that capture the quiet kind of love that speaks for itself.

The Best Day Ever — Ellie & Ed

A golden outdoor ceremony at Pylewell Park (hello, dream lighting), vows under open skies, and the kind of joy you can feel in every photo.

Unforgettable surprises? Oh yes, starting with two unexpected VIP guests (hello, alpacas), followed by an epic outfit change and those flashing rainbow soles lighting up the dance floor.

The love, the laughter, the light - absolutely unforgettable.

Ellie and Ed’s pre-wedding shoot at Shad Thames was full of beautiful moments, even in one of London’s busiest spots.

They picked this location for its character and I couldn’t agree more. It was the perfect warm-up for their big day in Hampshire next month.

I first met them at Louise and Greg’s wedding almost three years ago, so it’s an honour to now be capturing their story too.

Annette & Alex’s Wedding – Part 2

Part two of .noir & wedding celebrations was their civil ceremony, held at the same venue. Despite the large number of guests, the ceremony felt intimate, filled with heartfelt moments and personal touches. Having captured their pre-wedding shoot, traditional wedding, and now their civil wedding, I’ve spent a lot of time with this couple. Hand on heart, I can say their excitement around each other is truly infectious. It’s a beautiful thing to witness two well-grounded, God-fearing individuals love and serve each other the way they do.

Once the ceremony was over, Alex could hardly wait for the party to begin. If you saw their Instagram stories, you’d know this couple and their friends were ready to celebrate—and celebrate they did when DJ took over. But before that, as with all Nigerian weddings, the parents had their turn first, with the incredible Nigerian live band setting the tone.

After the live band, Annette and her friends surprised Alex with an incredible high-energy dance performance, and you could see just how much he loved every second of it. In the evening, the couple changed into yet another stunning traditional outfit—this time in regal purple, a colour long associated with royalty.

I often feel I have the best job in the world, witnessing such joyous occasions, and this wedding was no exception. It was the perfect way to round off what had been an unforgettable wedding journey.

Annette & Alex’s Traditional Nigerian Wedding – Part 1

What an incredible way to start the year with .noir & Alex’s vibrant Nigerian wedding at the stunning Meridian Grand. This was the first of two wedding days (more on that to come), and it was an absolute joy to be part of such a spectacular celebration.

Nigerian traditional weddings are a beautiful blend of culture, love, and family. The ceremony was led by two Alaga’s, who played their roles perfectly, guiding the proceedings with charisma and energy. From the moment Alex arrived to formally seek Annette’s hand in marriage, the atmosphere was filled with emotion. The guests were in tears one moment and roaring with laughter the next, as the Alaga’s ensured every part of the tradition was honoured in the most entertaining way.

One of the most striking elements of a Nigerian wedding is the significance of family colours, a long-standing tradition that distinguishes each side of the family while bringing a unique vibrancy to the celebration. Annette & Alex’s day was bursting with rich colours—the couple in burgundy, the bridesmaids in a complementary green, the bride’s family in orange and gold, and the groom’s family in brown and gold. The contrast was stunning and added to the visual beauty of the occasion.

The energy throughout the day was unmatched, culminating in an evening reception that turned into an unforgettable celebration. And to think, this was only the first wedding day. There is much more to come.

A special thanks to my good friend and talented colleague for assisting on both wedding days. With 350+ guests, large weddings can be unpredictable, requiring us to adapt quickly to capture every moment, and having Rahul there made all the difference.

Stay tuned for part two.

Hello, My name is Deji Johnson, a professional wedding photographer based in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire (on the outskirts of London). I am married to an amazing woman and a proud father of two amazing daughters. In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends, traveling and discovering new places, both here at home in the UK and abroad.

My work is inspired by getting to know you, your character, stories and relationship. I use this knowledge to anticipate the special moments between you and your loved ones; and to capture in my won way how I see things through my eyes. I want even you to be surprised with your own emotions and expression in photos. Specialising in documentary wedding photography, I use light, composition, symmetry and creativity amongst many others ways to tell your wedding story. I will help you capture all the special moments of your wedding day as you've planned it. Your story will be told in timeless images, you and your family will cherish for years to come.

I would love to hear what you have planned and how I can assist you.
