Our Amazing Animal World We are an Animal Sanctuary caring for over 100 Rescue Animals.

Our rescue animals make for a unique, hands-on, educational and fun experience that you will remember forever. We are "Our Amazing Animal World" and we LOVE the unloved & unwanted animals here at our private sanctuary in West Sussex. Starting this journey is, and always has been, been about helping animals in a self supporting way that benefits everyone. We wanted to help animals but also educate

people about the importance of animal care and welfare but in a fun way that engages an audience instead of lecturing. With no children of our own we wanted to open our doors and offer a forever home to unloved/unwanted animals giving them the love and security they need. We currently have over 100 rescue animals in our care and each of these live with us as part of our family in our home. Obviously this kind of operation requires a lot of funding which we usually create by bringing a small selection of the animals out to all different types of workshops and events. 



Caring for such a large menagerie is a huge amount of work and we don't have other jobs and lives - this is it for us and supporting the animals is our life which ultimately means no days off, no holidays and no social life - the animals become your life and take up every part of it but honestly we wouldn't have it any other way (although a holiday does sound lovely!)

The 2 chinchilla babies that were boarding here when born are growing fast! They turned 2 weeks old yesterday and they are growing in confidence.

They leave us mid-June so it’s a lovely treat getting to spend time with them ❤️

Kids Animal Encounter at The Farmers in Scaynes Hill with some of our amazing rescue animals for a unique handling session.

This is a hands-on event with rescue animals where you will meet animals including a European Rabbit, Panther Chameleon, African Bullfrog, African Pygmy Hedgehog, Argentine Black and White Tegu and Royal Python.

This event is suitable for ages 3-15.

Tickets cost £9.99 (adults are free but please limit to a maximum of 2 adults per child).

Sessions are at 12.30pm, 1.45pm + 3pm

A session lasts up to 60 minutes.

While Jerry binged on Eurovision Mark and Naye had some sugar glider cuddles. We have 3 rescues gliders here at the sanctuary - Percy who is featured here and 2 pretty girls who are camera shy.

Visit our rescue animals in their own home here at the sanctuary.

Our Amazing Animal World is a small animal sanctuary run by ourselves, Mark & Jerry. HQ is a unique creation run from our home which is a 19th century school/church building homing 100+ rescue animals of all different shapes and sizes. Each of these amazing souls live as part of our weird and wonderful family and there are some truly unique characters.

We are in West Sussex in a village called Scaynes Hill - RH17 7NY

How does it work?
You can now visit the animals here at HQ which is a small old church building where all the rescue animals live. Once you are here we start off around the large table meeting some of the animals that are easier to view in that way. We are always a very hands-on rescue and like children to learn through touch, holding etc. We then move to a couple of other rooms that hold various animals before moving outside to meet the Meerkats, Rabbits and Turkeys.

Mark is usually the handler during our HQ visits, but we both aim to show visitors as many animals as we can in the allotted time. On your booking form if you choose 6 animals you would like to meet then we can concentrate on those favourites first.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the building being very old (and relatively packed with animals) there is sadly not suitable room for wheelchairs. We hope to open a centre one day that can be all inclusive but we currently need to work with what we have.

PLEASE NOTE: The sanctuary can be a noisy space with some of the noisier (sometimes screaming) parrots and with over 100+ rescue animals living here there will obviously be many animal smells so some who struggle with sensory issues could find it too much.

Our Story

Loving the unloved & unwanted animals of the world.

"Our Amazing Animal World" are completely unique and love to bring some of our really amazing rescue animals to Parties, Celebrations, Schools, Nurseries, Care Homes, Fêtes, Youth Groups, Clubs and more.

We are Mark & Jerry, and we are fully dedicated to offering a unique fun, educational and fully interactive experience for both children and adults. We provide a loving forever home for over 100 rescue animals however we are not a charity and therefore receive no funding - this has always been about us choosing to offer a home to unloved/unwanted animals and bringing a selection of those out to meet people.

With 1-2 handlers at each event we are able to make sure that you are in safe hands whilst also taking care of all the needs of the attending animals. We don’t waste our time buying online accreditation’s as they are never observed or regulated in person. Instead we are the only animal handling company with fully qualified teachers as handlers and Marks invaluable knowledge studying his Exotic Animal Care Level 3 we can also offer a unique learning experience like no other.
