Coed Weddings and Events Coed is a unique wedding and events venue set in an intentional off-grid community near Cardiff

Coed is the most amazingly versatile space to create and plan your Wedding Ceremony, event or weekend retreat. Hidden in 180 acres of the Vale of Glamorgan Countryside, it radiates a spiritual and peaceful connection to nature and its environment. You can wander the gardens, meadows and woodlands finding hidden art amongst the trees and plants whilst absorbing the surrounding flora and fauna. Uni

que little sleeping spaces are dotted around the site allowing you to experience a simplistic overnight stay with the most basic yet romantic and comfortable living space. The event barn is an impressive 1970's hay barn conversion with a huge glass front which takes in views over the landscape and out to the Severn Estuary taking in views of the north Somerset coast on a clear day. The interior of the barn has been hand built using wood an resources from the surrounding landscape. It is based on a circular concept of the wheel of life which is such a warm and inviting space to share with your family, friends and colleagues and makes everyone feel part of the event. We have no closing times during your hire so the event will keep going until the last person is ready to leave. You can book our space for just a day workshop or use the entire space for a Weekend retreat or Wedding ceremony of which we have a full civil ceremony license for our Jacobean style barn and our circular barn, the largest of the barns can accommodate 150 Wedding guests. We also have a new 2 bedroomed Bridal cottage on site which adjoins the ceremony room perfect for a discreet entrance. Coed also has its own on-site caterers happy to provide you with a quote for their services to provide food for your Wedding guest. For workshops and retreats we do have a fully equipped kitchen which can be used for your food needs through the day with a coffee machine on hand for refreshments. The space is heated by a huge log burner and under floor heating which keeps the venue warm in the colder months. ****Announcement****

After almost 10 years of running Coed Weddings, it has been agreed that l will hand back the reigns to the community at the end of this Wedding season and take a side door exit.

Coed Weddings came at a time when my life had changed drastically. Putting my energy and time into creating a unique and diverse wedding venue saved me from myself and allowed me to realise my own potential.

It made me aware of my strengths, my weaknesses and has rebuilt my self-confidence and self esteem.

Over the years, l have met so many incredible people from every corner of the world and all walks of life. I have watched countless love stories blossom and take the next chapter.

I have also watched by team of staff grow and develop from shy, awkward children into exceptional humans as well as being a team of incredible Customer Service staff who thrive in a fast paced environment.

I have had the privilege to share moments with all the beautiful people that have wandered through the gardens at Coed. Some who stayed a while, others only fleeting but have put a little of their energy into the Weddings along the way. Each encounter has left an imprint in my soul and brought back my faith in humanity.

And for Gilly, Billy, Rawley, Nancy and the residents (past and present) at Coed, my heart is full of love, smiles, gratitude and laughter. Your support, dedication and patience has been my “womb” over the years. We did good didn’t we!! 🥰🙌❤️

To my wonderful Coed Weddings Crew 🥰

What a crazy few months of weddings we have had with more highs than lows this year!! It has been a very eventful season with so many wonderful moments with you all! You make every weekend joyful, fun and seamless with your ever-growing confidence and tightly bonded teamwork!

Being “work mum” to you all is such a privilege and seeing you all blossom into beautiful adult humans has been a blessing.

With the 2024 season almost done and we all return to our own lives for winter, l just wanted to tell you all how special each of you are to me and how much love l hold in my hearts for you all!

Wishing you all a much-deserved rest and so much luck with your autumn adventures!

Journey well and show your beautiful souls to the world.

Coed was transformed into a woodland fairy paradise this past weekend with mushrooms, wild flowers, moss, ferns and bogwood creating a beautiful, mystical, ethereal wedding scene. Pan fried paella and a freshly harvested Coed salad brought an element of Spain to the day.

The weather was perfect and the little mushroom cakes were delicious!! Guests sang and danced the night away under the stars to an open mic set whilst the fire pit cracked in the moonlight.

Congratulations to Marcus and Gabby on a stunning wedding weekend!! What a gorgeous couple you are! 😍🥰❤️
