We carefully, quietly listen to the dreams of our clients- collecting little hints and subtle signs that help us tell their story with flowers, light, paint and fabric. We are working on a handful of exquisite, select events next year, ones that require an extra level of thought and creativity. All the while, our next enormous adventure and project of our flower school and courses stands within its stall ready to be released and I am extremely excited. X

August. Claret coloured sunflowers, the second flush of foxgloves, delicate cosmos and billowing hydrangeas- my favourites have a pointy nose with a pink tinge. It’s not a month that I love doing events in if I’m completely honest, the cut flowers aren’t at their best because of the heat, but I love the colours of the garden, slightly softer, gentler, than the buzz of May and June. A very exciting project for next year landed on my desk today. X

We have done flowers and made sets in some pretty amazing places and for some extraordinary people, but this has to be one of my fondest adventures. In the completely incredible Neidpath Castle in Scotland, where Mary Queen of Scots stayed and which has made a mark on the land since 1190. I am fascinated by the place and feel so lucky that we were set free here to dress the castle and the marquee for the family who own it for a wedding. Whilst the sun beats down, I am thinking about the mechanics of a certain part of a winter job we are doing and so I revisited this very special one. X

We have some really beautiful and interesting projects on the old work table at the moment, some in the planning stage and some ready for action. Some of our projects are heavily involving flowers and others are introducing scenic elements and the use of fabric and painted backdrops with flowers. I am really excited to be evolving in the way we work. Something I am incredibly proud of is that the intricacy and thought involved in what we make is always commented on. There are layers and layers and hours and hours of thought in each part, from the story to the ingredients, to the construction which is crucial to it being fresh and lively. This beautiful arrangement was made in the searing heat in the south of France for this wonderful couple who I adore. We worked with the wonderful who I love dearly and have had some wonderful adventures with. Most of our work at the moment is private or unreleased yet but towards the end of the year we have some personal projects we can share x

The thrill of making flowers for events is completely intoxicating and wonderful and we have been lucky enough to do some extraordinary ones. We have created flowers in -15 in Sweden, with frosty fingers in Norway, we have dressed scorching glass houses in Holland to islands and lakes in Italy, we have spread wild magic on top of mountains in Scotland to rippling lakes in Ireland. We have done flowers for royalty, pop stars, designers, artists, mothers, daughters, grandfathers, and international brands, all of them with a gentle quiet discreetness. I have loved every moment but a chat with a lovely person for a podcast a month or so ago got me thinking… a few years ago I promised myself that I would always strive to be greener and more sustainable in doing flowers, and so now we reach the point that the next step in being greener and stick to this promise is to do less events, it is our next and only step forward on our sustainably striving journey and I am so happy. With this in mind in 2026 and onwards we will only take on the occasional event or wedding that feels just right and we are already almost at our limit for next year.

The wonderful thing is that nothing grinds to a halt, in fact quite the opposite, and the next chapter and stage of this adventure is so exciting I am itching to get going. X
