Delighted to be a finalist in the Artisan Founder Awards in the Excellence in Craftsmanship category. Just 5 finalists and Lino Lord needs your vote please.

Just 6.5 years ago I picked up a set of lino cut tools with the desire to make something using my hands in a traditional way with time-honored techniques. It's lovely that these skills have been recognised in these annual awards.

Check out the competition here and vote for your favourite artisans.

Back home from my maiden voyage with my apron on to 68 degrees North and first time inside the Arctic circle, which was quite a way for this southerner! is a boutique luxury hotel in the village of Sørvågen and offers an incredible culinary experience 5 times a year for a select number of guests to enjoy life on the Edge of the World.

They not only experience exquisite food and drink by leading chefs and bartenders, they have the opportunity to participate in guided mountain walks, trips out to the tip of Lofoten and into the Maelstrom, foraging trips and workshops with creative collaborators.

I was honoured to be asked to host a series of lino print workshops for the guests over the duration of their stay at Holmen and was delighted to be able to make this voyage in the company of the seasoned traveller to Holmen who was hosting a series of blacksmithing workshops.

The whole experience has been magical, I have embraced so much over the past 2 weeks, collaborating with the most amazing team and the incredible team running the kitchen, restaurant and hotel. I have enjoyed teaching and chatting to so many wonderful guests in my workshops, capturing the stunning beauty of Lofoten and I ate like a true Lord every day.

I would like to thank ingunn_rasmussen and for their hospitality, and the team for welcoming me and to Alex for being my wingman.

The only thing I didn't do was a dip in the Arctic which is fine with me! Maybe next time....

Here are a few camera phone images but rest assured there will be plenty more to come.

More over on my account in the coming weeks....

Thank you, thank you, thank you to those that have supported me with the sales of this print in memory of Nigel Cullen, proprietor and barista . Together we have raised over £900 for who did everything they could to save Nigel's life after he was involved in a road traffic accident in May.

All prints are numbers 1 for Nigel, 2 for Nigel etc. I have 10 left in my shop which will take us well over £1000 which was my initial target. The prints are £20 with £15 going towards to Cornwall Air Ambulance.

I will be making the payment to the Cornwall Air Ambulance next month once the funds clear into my account from my website provider.

Thank you.

A detail of the Kennixton Farmhouse, St Fagans, Wales.

The building would have been originally painted with Oxblood and Lime to fend off evil spirits.

The Rogers family were tenants when the building was built in 1610. Around 200 years later the current generation of the family were able to purchase the property.

Wonderful private garden planted out by the team that I photographed last year for the home owners. Such a wonderful drive into this garden through this small woodland area.

Check out the bug house top left in the image created by the team too. If I come back as a solitary bee I'd like to live here please. 🐝.
