Good Evening All

A Little Update and apologies on the quietness lately.

For those who may not know LUXX EVENTS is run solely by myself Amanda and my husband Peter.

Unfortunately at the end of last month Peter was rushed into hospital , he has since been out and back in , things took a turn last week when he was took for emergency surgery with a 99% going a normal way shall we say , Peter of course was that 1% that didn't go to plan with complications , Hours later , drains , drips , meds and everything else he finally made it out to recovery, he is still in hospital hooked up and looks like a sci fi movie character! lol , But he is slowly getting there, there is a long road ahead for him but we are taking it one day at a time , looking to be ready and rearing for the new year as we have lots planned.

This unfortunately has put a stop on some of the things moving forward and we would to apologise for any inconvenience caused in late responses or delayed posts, event notices etc

Things should be getting a little more back to normal in the coming weeks !

Beachside Comic Con will have announcements to follow also ! as well as some other exciting events for 2026!

Gooood Evening All !

We are super excited to official announce ( some may have seen the sneak peak)

STAR-CON WILL RETURN !

2026 brings a new version of STAR-CON as we take it INTO THE GALAXY !

This means whilst we absolutely LOVE the Star Wars franchise ( and yes we will be keeping it ) we are also welcoming other Galaxy themed franchises such as Star Trek, Dr Who , Guardians of the Galaxy and so on .....

We are looking forward to welcoming you all for the 3rd adventure of
STAR-CON !!

Here's a few FAQ's answered below .....

*My child is under 5. Do i have to pay ? No, children under 5 are FREE!

*Do you do carers tickets? YES, you get one free carer ticket when you purchase an adult ticket. Just make sure to bring with you proof, such as pip letter, blue badge, etc

*Can i purchase tickets on the door? YES, absolutely you can purchase tickets on the door from 10.30 am

*If i leave the event, can i get back in ? Yes , you will be given a wristband on entry, which will allow you entry for the day.

*Can my child come on their own ? - No, all children must be supervised by an adult.

* Do i need to print my tickets ? - NO, as long as we can scan your barcode, you do not need to print them.

*How much for photos / autos - All prices are available on our page for pre viewing, and prices will also be displayed at the venue and on the guests' tables.

*Is the venue accessible ? - YES Doubletree By Hilton is fully accessible, if you require any assistance at all please don't hesitate in finding a member of staff , they will be more than happy to help in anyway they possibly can.

*i want to take part in the Quiz. How do i do it ? Please head to the Cosplay Table, and our wonderful team will be more than happy to help !

Please remember that the Hotel will still be operational. All ticket holders will be given wristbands/hand stamp to allow them entry in and out of the event.

For any further information, Lost Children , First Aid, or any other queries, please make sure you speak to a member of Management at the Information stand inside the venue.

PROPS!

If you are bringing a Prop, please make sure it is safe and legal to carry.
What this means is that we can not and will not allow entrance under any circumstances to any Sharply bladed article or anything that may cause significant harm, alarm or distress to others.

All Props entering the Venue will be subject to checks.
Please keep in mind members of the public inside and outside the venue, who are not used to seeing these types of events taking place, or understand the meaning behind certain Cosplays/Props may mistake these for weapons
Large props are only to be wielded for photo purposes
and must be kept on person at all times.

Please make sure that any fi****ms can clearly be seen as not real either by orange tipped or the way in which it has been painted/designed.

Bows and arrows - Bows are allowed into the venue. However, they must not be accompanied with working arrows . If working arrows are used, then the string of the bow must be taken out.

As always, please keep prop safety in mind when attending events.

SECURITY !

We have a fabulous team who will be with us the weekend to make sure that all attendees , guests, and all those involved stay safe whilst with us .
Please help us keep you safe by reporting anything that doesn't feel right to our security and staffing teams. We will always act on your concerns.

REMEMBER ALSO COSPLAY IS NOT CONSENT!

Random bag Searching and Cosplay Prop inspection will be carried out throughout the weekend. Consideration regarding cosplay props is extremely important, so please keep this in mind.

There is to be no alcohol permitted into the venue
Anyone found to be in possession of anything Illegal will be refused entry into the venue and will be reported to the Police as a matter of urgency.

FOOD

The Hotel will have their Pop up food area selling various yummy goodies and beverages!

There is also lots of other local food should you wish to take a time out for something to eat or drink .
