So far this week Iâve been contacted by 3 prospective customers, not asking for a copy of my menu, but asking if I know of any reasonably priced caterers.
Just so itâs clear: I will NEVER EVER recommend any other business than my own.
Itâs like going into a pub and before asking for a pint, asking if the landlord knows of any reasonably priced pubs in the area.
Costs to caterers have risen by more than 50% since 2020.
This does not take into consideration the rise in energy prices, insurance and training costs. Yes, even I have to keep up to date with the latest Food Standards Agency training.
Then there is the time that is put into developing menus and the years of hard work and diligence plus the dedication to giving the best service possible. Thatâs before the time and effort that goes into to sourcing the best ingredients from local producers and maintaining those relationships.
We all want a bargain in life but looking for rock bottom prices on food service can lead to all sorts of problems.
The average price of a McDâs Big Mac meal is now ÂŁ8.
Expecting a buffet for ÂŁ5 per person is unreasonable, unfair and rude!
