Knowing that many of you are has a thriving crafters, I thought some of you might be interested in attending an Easter Rag Wreath workshop that I’m holding in Berryfield Village Hall on the 29th of March.

We will be using repurposed fabrics to lessen our environmental impact whilst making a reusable wreath and spending an afternoon crafting and taking some time for ourselves.

It would be great to have you join us!

Tickets are available through EventBrite by scanning the QR code, clicking the link or searching for the event on EventBright.

I was gifted some large pieces of fabric by a lovely lady that had been gifted them several years ago, had not found a use for them and needed the storage space for other resources.

There were several marks throughout the fabric so I had to work between them. But there was still plenty of ‘usable’ fabric left to create these beautiful, extra large white bunting flags.

There’s 5 meters here and because of their large size, they would be great for decorating large spaces!

Looking for love? We’ve got you covered!

Sometimes you need to spice things up a bit. We can’t help you in many departments but your search is over if you’re wanting sustainable decor!

We supply bunting and decorations made of materials that were otherwise going to waste. We cater for large and small orders and even take custom orders. So, if you don’t see what you want, give us a shout and we’ll see if we can help!

Have a waste source of your own that you want transforming into something else? We’d love to hear from you too!

I woke up nice and early this morning to get on with my sewing, only to be faced with a blown bulb on my sewing machine.

So rather than trying to sew in the dark, I took it upon myself to change the bulb without any help. I’m so glad I did because it was really easy and quick to do!

For those of you who love crafting, come and join us for an afternoon creating a beautiful Easter Rag Wreath made using repurposed fabric!

At Eco Bunting we really don’t like seeing perfectly good fabric going to landfill or being incinerated! So this Easter rather than paying out for something that’s been made of new fabric and probably shipped half way across the world, come and make your own wreath with a cuppa and an Easter treat!

Tickets are on sale via Eventbrite linked here:

59.6kg of waste fabric was collected from the Dorothy House warehouse ready to be turned into reusable tote bags for their Warehouse Sale on the first Saturday of each month.

Because of the continuous drive of fast fashion the world has a huge excess of clothing. Some sources say that there is enough clothing already made to clothe the next 6 generations!

Unfortunately the rise in cheap, low quality clothing on the market means much of what’s donated is such low quality that it can’t be resold. Where once charities were able to sell the majority of what they were donated, now this is not always the case.

This does not mean that we should stop donating! On the contrary, charities currently need the public’s support more than ever in order for them to maintain the vital services they provide.

So please continue to donate but even more importantly, buy from charity shops! Until either policies change or we as individuals change the way we consume, the fashion industry will continue to over produce.

Oh and for those of you wondering what happens to clothing and soft furnishings that you donate that can’t be sold… in many cases they go to fabric waste collectors.

It’s estimated that across the world 57% of clothing ends up in landfill & that 25% is incinerated.
Of course each waste collector has its own stats and I am in no way saying that these stats compare at all with the waste collectors for Dorothy House. They provide a vital service too and in many instances are bound by restrictions in current technology. There simply isn’t the technology to turn many of our items of clothing into anything else but waste.

That’s why Eco Bunting have stepped in to make a tiny drop in the ocean, to reuse a comparably tiny amount of waste fabric into something useful, bags for the Dorothy House Warehouse Sales!

So please come along to the Warehouse Sale on the 1st of February & bag yourself a bargain, refresh your wardrobe & most importantly, support

Available as a 10 meter length and a 7 meter length.

This bunting is made from some repurposed curtains that have been redirected from going to landfill.

Each flag is double-sided with and alternating pattern of flowers and plain white. The edges are raw so there will be some natural fraying over time.

Take a look at our beautiful ‘Fairy Flowers’ garland!

It’s been lovingly handmade using a children’s fairy book that was falling apart at the seams and was heading for the recycling bin!

Each flower has been cut and glued by hand with paper straws used as the stem of the garland.

All of these paper items have been strung onto a length of jute string, making the whole garland compostable.

This would make a beautiful and unique decoration for parties, weddings and photo shoots, especially paired with our paper leaf garlands!

A massive thank you to everyone involved in the Chippenham Uniform Exchange!

There are several collection bins around including one at Melksham Community Campus.

This is a great way of keeping useable clothes in circulation for longer, keeping them out of landfill!

There are so many unsung heroes in our community that today I want to say thank you to all of those that help, in whatever way, at the Melksham Community Larder.

Whenever I go past or pop in to the Larder, the volunteers are always so welcoming. They work hard to save food from going to landfill and redirect it to people’s plates!

So thank you for all the hours you put in and for making a real difference not only to the people of Melksham but also for the huge volume of food that you save from going to waste!

There are still spaces available at our wreath making workshop!

We’ll be making star wreaths using yarn that would otherwise have gone to waste.
