Did you know we've delivered events in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords? They're some of the most iconic venue spaces in the UK, but they also come with a very different approach to event management...

From high security and carefully planned logistics for getting equipment in and out, to curated catering options, strict setup and derig schedules, every detail needs to be meticulously planned. It's a different challenge to most venues, but one that's incredibly rewarding (and feels special to visit, no matter how many times we've been).

Of course, the setting makes it all worthwhile. Hosting events in such historic buildings is a privilege, and they create a memorable experience for every guest.

One of our favourite moments? Welcoming guests to an event accompanied by a live string quartet (and yes, we did have to get the instruments through airport style security!) . It was the perfect finishing touch in a truly special venue.

Every venue has its own way of doing things, and we love adapting to make each event a success for our clients and their guests.

A big thanks as always to our brilliant clients at EEEGR (East of England Energy Group) and Vincentian Care Plus Charity for working with us on these events.

This week we've been busy putting together a proposal for a client's Corporate Summer Picnic, and it's a great reminder that no two events are the same (and I love working on things that are a little different!)

We always like to present clients with options, so they can choose an experience that best suits their team, budget and objectives.

🌿 Option One: The Fun Picnic
Think colourful picnic blankets, individual picnic boxes, garden games, a smoothie bike challenge (complete with leaderboard!), chilled drinks, background music and plenty of opportunities for colleagues to relax, compete and connect.

✨ Option Two: The Luxury Picnic
For a more premium feel, we suggested beautifully styled picnic spaces with cushions, pallet tables, seasonal florals, luxury picnic hampers, delicious treats and elegant finishing touches to create a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere.

And of course... these are just the starting point! We can also incorporate everything from street food vendors and pizza trucks to live entertainment, team-building activities, branded décor, outdoor bars and much more.

Now they just need to choose which option they like the most! ✨

Let's be honest... nobody talks about the quarterly budget review years later...

But that summer team afternoon when the team got far too competitive over solving a murder? The BBQ where departments actually mixed? The colleague who turned out to be surprisingly good at at spotting the Traitor amongst the group? Those are the moments people remember.

Summer events give teams a chance to connect as people. They spark conversations that wouldn't happen in a meeting room, help new starters feel part of the team, and remind everyone that work can be fun too.

A bit of sunshine, some good food, and a reason to spend time together can go a long way towards building stronger teams.

What a great time we had in the sunshine at Broom Hotel, Spa, Gym & Golf Club running "The Killing Crime Scene Investigation" Team Building Experience for 3 teams! The beautiful Colton Suite leads nicely out onto a terrace. We kicked off the event inside, with guests learning of the heinous crime that had been committed! It was then time for guests to start the investigation... with team tables out in the sunshine on the lawns, and a full crime scene to explore and find evidence within, it was all hands-on!

And the feedback?

"The event was great and everyone really enjoyed it. One person described it as the best team-building activity they’d done as part of this group, so thank you." ✨

What more could we ask for? 😊

A great day spent with one of our brilliant clients! Menu tasting day ahead of a 300+ person gala dinner and anniversary celebration next month. It was a tough choice to pick 4 canape options from the 8 delicious ones the client had picked! The hit of the day was the mushroom and feta tartlet which was gorgeous. Then onto choosing main course options - always a tricky one! Lots of discussion regarding mass appeal, inclusivity and also speed of service. The winner was picked and then onto the mouthwatering desserts... A clear winner with a silky rich dark chocolate tart, salted caramel and raspberry sorbet.

Excellent afternoon spent with Victoria from and we can't wait for the event in May!

It’s been a BIG week so far for team building event bookings in the Huxley Events office 🙌

A CSI Experience for a senior leadership team at the beautiful Barnham Broom (with a crime scene outside, hopefully in glorious sunshine) – immersive, collaborative and packed with problem-solving under pressure to solve the murder.

A high-energy “Communicado” event for 350 guests – bringing communication, relationship building and teamwork to life on a large scale.

And another booking for our “Faithless” (Traitors-inspired) experience – where trust is tested, alliances are formed, and no one is quite who they seem…

It’s brilliant to see organisations investing in team experiences for their employees - ones that challenge thinking, strengthen relationships and (most importantly) are seriously good fun (we know how hard creating social bonds can be)!

A blank space, transformed.

This Greatest Show-inspired event was all about bold décor, performers, and unforgettable entertainment.

From show-stopping performers, aerial hoop dancers, singing waiters, a live band, upbeat DJ, virtual reality arcade games, sparking photobooths, circus props, life size lions and immersive production.

At Huxley Events, we love creating events that are fun, with entertainment that feels purposeful, and themes that truly come to life.
