I’m currently at a DIY wedding setup - it’s chaos and it’s awesome... 🤍

What started as a marquee full of boxes, décor and complete strangers is slowly turning into a beautiful wedding setting, lots of laughs, and a few new friendships along the way. 👌

So if you’re worrying about how it’s all going to come together, or whether all the different people in your life will get on, remember this: it will, and they will.🎉

There’s nothing quite like having all the people you love in one place, celebrating you and your love story. 🫶

We forgot things.

Not because we were disorganised, but because our packing list wasn’t detailed enough 📋

When you’re packing hundreds of wedding items, don’t just write:

❌ Sweet Table

Write:

✅ Jars
✅ Scoops
✅ Tongs
✅ Bags
✅ Sign
✅ Tablecloth

Think about everything you’ll need to set it up too. Fishing wire, scissors, clips, Blu Tack, cable ties... whatever goes with that area.

If you can, pack everything for each area together in one labelled box and only tick it off when it’s actually in the car.

I’ve forgotten things. I’ve seen countless brides forget things. drive an hour or more home is not time you have to spare 😬

The more detailed your packing list is, the less chance you’ll be driving home for something on the morning of your wedding. 😅

You definitely don’t need all 20 of these ideas.

Just one or two simple activities can:
• Get guests chatting
• Break the ice between strangers
• Keep kids entertained
• Give teenagers something to do
• Make speeches more fun
• Fill those awkward waiting-around moments

From drinks tokens and table talkers to wedding newspapers, programme fans (perfect for summer weddings), speech bingo, wedding dares, quizzes, prediction cards, guest bingo and activity mats, there’s something for every type of wedding.

My personal favourite? Guest bingo. It’s such an easy way to get people mingling and learning more about each other.

Yesterday I asked brides what they’re most worried about when it comes to their wedding day...

And so many of you said the same thing:

“What if nobody gets up and dances?”

🎵Honestly, I completely get it because I had exactly the same worry.

We had a dub/reggae band at our wedding, and although I loved them, I kept wondering whether people would actually get on the dance floor - especially the old people!

🕺💃I needn’t have worried.
The dance floor was packed all night.

So I thought I’d ask the experts wedding band Mammoth.
Their top tip was simple:

“If the bride and groom are on the dance floor, everyone else will be too.”
People naturally gravitate towards the couple, so don’t spend the evening worrying about everyone else.

Trust your music.
Trust your choices.
Get yourselves on the dance floor and enjoy every minute.
Your guests are there to celebrate with you 🫶

I was worried no one would dance. We had a dub reggae band and I thought the old people wouldn’t get it. I was wrong, dancefloor was packed 💃🕺
