Two weeks ago all of our horses had their yearly checkups from our wonderful equine dentist 🦷
Having their teeth checked yearly is important for horses for many reasons-
🐴 horses teeth constantly erupt through their lives
🐴 horses can chew around 30,000 times a day
🐴 horses are very good at hiding pain so a yearly routine checkup is a must!
🐴because they grow continuously they can get sharp enamel points and uneven growth which can cause ulcers in their mouths
🐴 To ensure they are comfortable and happy eating to prevent digestive problems
In this reel we are showing Tally getting his teeth checked and rasped.
Rasping will prevent uneven wearing and sharp points from forming. This is a painless task which usually takes a few minutes 🐴🦷
