The truth is… life looks a little different right now.

Pops & Twine turns 3 this week — and while I’d love to say we’re flying, the truth is, we’re holding steady and figuring things out as we go. 💛

Shelby’s been having a tough time settling into school. He’s non-verbal and got other bits and bobs going on and right now his just doing a couple of hours a day while we work on getting the right support in place. It’s been emotional and exhausting, but he’s incredible — his smile still lights up everything. ✨

So for now, Pops & Twine is open Fridays and Saturdays, and I’m taking this time to pivot. We’re not giving up — not even close. The dream is still alive and stronger than ever. 🌈

It’s not been easy. Balancing being a mum, running a small business, and protecting my own mental health has taken real work — some days I’ve felt like I’m on the ropes. But I’m still standing. Still dreaming. Still creating.

Because this shop, this dream — it was always built on love, community, and creativity. And love never gives up. 💕

We might be quieter right now, but we’re building something beautiful for 2025. I can feel it.

💚✨💖 We had the wickedest time celebrating with a full-on Wicked themed children’s party. Little ones making bracelets and necklaces like future fashion designers, waffles and ice cream loaded with all the classics, and karaoke where every tiny voice got to be the star of the show 🎤💚

Smiles, glitter, and magic all day long. That’s what we do.

K-POP PARTY MAGIC AT POPS & TWINE 💜🎤✨️

We hosted the dreamiest K-pop themed party. The girls designed their own tote bags and makeup-bag-slash-pencil-cases… first on paper to let those creative ideas flow, then decorating their real items with all the sparkly goodness.

We had a full-on catwalk show (with serious superstar struts). Waffles, ice cream, apple and orange juice kept us fuelled. We danced and sang our heads off to every K-pop anthem. Honestly… it was amazing.

We had the cutest first birthday celebration at Pops & Twine. Teletubbies were in the building ❤️💛💚💜

The vibe was family, fun, and getting creative. Everyone got stuck into arts and crafts, then tucked into waffles and ice cream like absolute waffle champions 🏆

It was just one of those parties that reminds you why we do what we do. Happy little ones, happy big kids disguised as adults, and loads of giggles.

🪩 From Sparkle to Ceiling Magic ✨

So, you’ve seen the final ceiling — but here’s how it all came together 💫

What started as a few fun ideas and bits of inspiration slowly turned into this full-blown, layered, textured, sparkly masterpiece! I wanted it to feel like stepping back into childhood — a little bit circus, a little bit disco, and definitely a whole lot of tacky fun (the good kind!).

We built it up piece by piece, playing around, layering, adding more colour and shine until it just felt right. There were moments of chaos (as always 😅), but that’s where the magic usually happens.

It’s nostalgic, it’s playful, and it’s definitely one of my favourite things we’ve done in the shop so far. Proof that sometimes, if you just go for it and have a bit of fun, it all comes together beautifully in the end. 💕

✨ The Inspiration ✨
When I started dreaming up the new ceiling, I wanted it to feel like stepping back into childhood — colourful, layered, fun, and just a little bit tacky (in the best way).

Think foil ceilings, disco balls, and that circus-meets-party vibe that makes you smile the moment you look up.

I remember when I was little — foil ceilings were a big deal! Everything shimmered, and nothing had to match. It was all about sparkle and joy.

That’s the look we’ve gone for here — a little old-school nostalgia, a little magic, and a lot of fun 💫

We’re so excited to be working in collaboration with  — coming together as independent, community-minded businesses here in the London Borough of Sutton.

At Pops & Twine, we’ve always believed that community is everything — from free arts and crafts for the kids to a warm cuppa shared with our favourite golden oldies (like Mo and Harry 💛).
