Shint Hati progress part 4! I'm almost there, but i still need to style the wig, its a disaster 🙏

This week I stepped outside my comfort zone and did a voiceover... a huge step as I used to be teased for how I sound. So if you don't like it, do me a favour and scroll past 🤐👋

Still to do: style the wig, and find the leg pieces I KNOW i made 🤦🏼‍♀️

Custom jacket and modified shorts is the fit of the day! Off to cheer England on in the World Cup, so cosplay will have to wait 🙈

Also its still too hot to be wearing all that armour 🥵

This week is way to hot to be running around in a cape! So here's some of the painting progress I've made on Shin's armour pieces, and a simple few clips of the process:

I dry brush some black into the grooves before I airbursh, which might be a bit weird, does anyone else do this?

Then I mix the colour (remember to thin your paints 🙄) I like to use metallic black and some brown on armour to make it look aged but still metal.
Its been so long since I've used it I'm rustier than the armour!

Hope my UK pals are coping with the heat!

Part 2 of resurrecting the cosplay I found abandoned in storage 👀

This week: sewing on all the fastenings, important QC check, and attempting to work with layers of fabric during a UK heatwave.

Maybe not the smartest move but the sew must go on!

At least it's finally starting to look like a wearable cosplay

A closer look at the historical stays I recently shared🤓

Can you believe I deconstructed, altered panel by panel, and rebuilt these to fit me during lockdown?! It was a challenge, but I know I enjoyed it 🥰

Years later, it's still a project I'm incredibly proud of.

Would you have started again from scratch, or taken on the alterations? ✨

Throwback to these historical stays I made while studying at uni - a labour of love!💛

They were originally drafted and fitted to another student in my class, using hand-dyed silk and detailed hand embroidery. During the pandemic, with a lot more time on my hands, I decided to completely deconstruct them, alter every panel to fit me instead, and then reassemble the entire garment. 🥵

The silk has faded quite a bit over the years, but I'm still proud of the craftsmanship and hours of handwork that went into this piece.

I'm considering re-dyeing them and giving them a new lease of life... should I do it?

Alternative fashion, bespoke creations, handmade in England

Now, one thing I’ve never shared much online is how much of my work over the past several years has actually been in a totally different world ✨

While a lot of people know me through cosplay and alternative fashion, behind the scenes I’ve also spent 5+ years working in the bridalwear industry — from fittings and alterations to dress customisation, accessories, and creating garments from scratch.

This doesn’t mean I’m leaving costume or alternative fashion behind at all 🖤 Those will always be part of what I love creating. (And I have cosplays still in the works! So please stick around 😉)

That said, here are some of the bits I've worked on: A gown constructed for luxury bridal designer Castigliano, a veil for the same, and the last is a WIP of a plain dress where I added all the flowers to the skirt for a bride✨
