Getting together after a funeral can be a source of comfort and strength for those who are grieving, helping them to remember the joy and happiness the deceased brought into their lives as this family demonstrated. Shared with their permission.

The wake at the Davenport Arms went well too. Dad was singing at the end of the night 😊'

Today I conducted a service at Birches Crematorium & Remembrance Park for Griffiths and Booth Funeral Service
There was a great turnout for the passing of a fun, well loved gentleman. One of his neighbours, also a great friend took the stand to make a personal tribute. She was fine as we gathered, fine as we sat, fine as she came to the lecturn, even making a joke. Then she choked.
I placed my arm around her. Whispered 'take a breath' after a few moments she continued. Faltering at times, but raising lots of laughs and tears too. That is love. Hats off to her.

Happy Anniversary. Birches Crematorium & Remembrance Park - I love working with you.

Today marks five years since the first service took place here at Birches.

Over that time, we've been honoured to care for so many members of the community and we are so proud every day to be here for people at a difficult time in their lives.

On National Funeral Directors Day I want to shout out for the amazing teams I work in partnership with at John Garside and Son Funeral Directors and Griffiths and Booth Funeral Service. Apart from everything else they do, one of their skills is in matching you with an officiant to lead the service for your loved one.

Without their help I wouldn't get wonderful feedback like this below, so thank you.

How would you like your family and friends to celebrate your life?
I had the privilege to officiate at an event recently where a family did it their way. It was a beautiful and meaningful 'celebration of life.' People came together, with no time constraint, to honour their loved one. Several lifelong friends had time to pay their personal tributes 🧡 The pre- planned words of the loved departed were spoken.
There was food, music, dancing, connecting, all being one!
Surely this is the way forward!
You don't have to have a time limited service at a Crematorium. All kinds of venues are available to give you more options.
