Specialising in wraps, boleros, capes, bridesmaids and evening dresses made for your sp

ecial event. In 2012, the Sewing Academy was also born following the increasing demand of people wanting to learn or improve their sewing skills. It now brings me great pleasure to share my knowledge through my courses, workshops and private sessions.

The upper floor of the studio is a little hive of activity and is currently undergoing a refresh ✨

So many of you have visited over the years to either attend a workshop/class or more recently to enjoy a beauty treatment in Aylas studio. Clients always comment how welcoming and relaxing the space is but it's due a glow up!
My workroom is also based upstairs so this flooring reno needs to happen fast as it's peak season and Aylas clients also have lashes, brows and nails to be looked after !

Looking forward to sharing some pics once the flooring is down this week and in the meantime, please be advised no bathroom facilities for any bridal fittings over the next few days.

Always love the chance to make something bespoke and totally unique.
Lots of brides are opting for a shorter evening dress and it was a pleasure to create a matching neckpiece for this stunning beaded lace dress.

Fitting Info

With lots of brides booked in over the next few months I thought it might be useful to share some tips ahead of fittings.

: It is advised that you don’t buy shapewear/underwear prior to your fitting. I can advise you of the correct style and carry an extensive range available to purchase from at the studio. It’s always best to try on styles with the dress to check for a perfect fit. No pinching, riding or bulging is the brief!

: Worried about support if you can’t wear a bra?
I’ve got it covered with options including pads, gel boosters, taping and even the option of sewing the skeleton of a bra into your dress.

: Trust the process.. when you arrive your dress may feel overwhelming now that you have come away from the bridal store. Bridal boutiques often use a box for you to stand on which means when that is not there you may feel swamped in fabric . Once the dress is shortened it’s literally a game changer!

: Wear minimal make up to fittings. You will be provided with dressing gloves as the temptation is always to touch the beautiful fabric. Satin and crepe styles can mark really easily so together we will treat your dress with care at every step.

: Lots of ladies arrive nervous and that’s completely normal. My ultimate job is to make you feel confident and ensure your dress fits perfectly. From the first consultation you will be given a clear plan of the work needed and the reassurance that everything will be possible.

Hope those little tips are helpful and please feel to ask anything either ahead of fittings or during the consultations.
