❤️🎧 A WEE UPDATE FROM BEHIND THE DECKS… 🎧❤️
I’ve kept this stuhm for a wee bit, but I think it’s time to be honest about what’s happening with my DJing business.
As most folk will know, I’m getting on a bit now 😂 and although my love for DJing is as strong as ever, the reality of lugging all my gear about every weekend was never meant to become an every-weekend thing… but somehow, that’s exactly what it’s turned into!
And as much as I absolutely LOVE what I do, something has to give.
I’ve recently bagged myself a lovely promotion in my day job, which I start in a couple of weeks. Between that, family life, friends, the taxman taking his fair share 😂 and trying to have a wee bit of time to myself, I need to take a step back and find a better balance.
So, here’s the important bit…
🎧 I’M NOT STOPPING DJING! 🎧
I’ll still be taking bookings, and I’ll absolutely honour every party I already have in the diary. This year is fully booked, I’ve got a fair few parties lined up for 2027, and even some already booked for 2028.
But going forward, I’ll be stripping things right back. I may even limit myself to just ONE PARTY A MONTH from 2027 onwards.
Why? Because I want to keep loving what I do rather than risk turning something I’m passionate about into something that feels like a chore.
Anyone who has booked me will know that I throw myself into every party. I genuinely care about getting it right. I spend time researching music, understanding what clients want, building playlists, finding those wee hidden gems and sometimes stepping well outside my own comfort zone to deliver something special.
And do you know what? That’s one of the things I love most about DJing. I’m always learning, always discovering new music, and always finding something I can take forward to the next party.
But I’ll let you into a wee secret…
Sometimes, my own worst enemy is myself.
Despite the lovely feedback, the kind words and the positive reactions, I can still walk away wondering if I’ve done enough or whether I’ve given every client exactly what they wanted.
I probably overthink things far more than I should, but that’s because I care.
I want people to remember their parties for all the right reasons, and I want every booking to feel like it mattered.
So, rather than spreading myself too thin, I want to concentrate on my new role, spend more time with my family and friends, and make sure that when I do take a booking, I can give it the same time, effort and passion that I always have.
If your party is in my diary, don't worry. You’ll still get the same commitment, research, planning and enthusiasm from me. ❤️
And to everyone who has booked me, recommended me, supported my wee business, or trusted me with a special occasion… THANK YOU! 🙌
Every enquiry, every booking, every dancefloor filled and every bit of feedback has meant more to me than you probably realise.
I hope I’ve helped create some brilliant memories along the way, and I’m grateful to everyone who has given me the opportunity to be part of their celebrations.
I’ll still do my very best to help people find a DJ when I’m unavailable, too. Hopefully, some of you who have enquired over the years will agree that I’ve been able to help fill that gap, even when I couldn't personally take the booking.
This isn't goodbye. It's just me pressing the brakes a wee bit, getting the balance right, and making sure I can keep doing something I absolutely love without sacrificing the other important things in life.
The decks aren't going away. The passion isn't going away. I'm just going to be a wee bit harder to book! 😂🎧
