Sean Johnson DJ DJ ✦ Producer ✦ DizzyFunk Label Owner
Bookings: [email protected]

Sean cut his teeth in the late-80s as House music first took hold in the UK, and through the 90s played alongside legends like Paul 'Trouble' Anderson, Norman Jay, CJ Mackintosh and Matt 'Jam' Lamont. In the 2000s, his deep, rolling sound evolved into the birth of DizzyFunk — a sound system collective as part of the same Midlands’ free party scene as legendary DiY and Smokescreen sound systems, with regular guests including Inland Knights, Toka Project, Digs & Woosh and Simon DK. Now returning to the decks in the 2020s, Sean’s unshakable passion for real House music and his decades of experience shine through each and every time. Whether he’s playing Deep, Soulful, Garage or Disco, it’s always firmly rooted in that classic 90s sound.

A little known underground classic from back in the day. Not the mainstream masquerading as the underground. The proper underground.

The sort of stuff you can expect at the DizzyFunk 25th Birthday Party next month.

Sean Johnson. If you know Peterborough house music, you know the name.

Sean has been part of House Proud for over 10 years, but his story with the city goes back much further. From the early rave days to building DizzyFunk, which celebrates 25 years this year, he's been right there through it all.

He's back with us on Bank Holiday Saturday, 29 August at Old Station Quarter.

Who remembers Sean from the early days?
