Everything put away, well almost everything after a great day at Pudsey Suppliers Fair yesterday. A big thank you to everyone who came and bought, to all the suppliers and to David Hill for arranging the day again. Time for coffee and what remains of Chris’s birthday cake

Our next show is our Christmas fair on the 5th December at the .

Bookings for our classes will close on the 16th November. Spaces are limited so make sure you book soon.

I’d like to start by thanking all the suppliers and customer who came to visit us this year at Fenland. We really appreciate the continued support your all showing for our events.

Unfortunately foot traffic wasn’t high enough to save the event and we have taken the difficult decision not to run the show in 2027.

Lace making is an endangered craft and groups are on the decline. We are also aware that since covid peoples shopping habits have changed but If the suppliers fairs and lace days aren’t supported then they won’t happen.

Suppliers won’t attend these events if they don’t make enough money to justify coming, it’s not just the cost of the tables but hotels, fuel and stock costs.

Having taken the decision not to run Fenland next year bringing the potential suppliers fairs down to 3 for 2027.. but we’re also not prepared to run at a continued loss and if Christmas isn’t busy that won’t run in 2027 either. These decisions are based purely on people attending. Losing the suppliers fairs and lace days is a massive loss to the lace making community.

We have our Christmas event coming up at the beginning of December and we have spaces for the classes we are running there.

Almost every supplier has a website but you can’t see the detail and feel the craftsmanship from a website. Threads also don’t look the same in a picture then they do in real life, and then there’s the chance to speak to experienced lace makers to get any help you may need.. so please take advantage of the shows we’re putting on and let’s make the fairs what they used to be for the benefit of all lace makers 🩷

Advance show only tickets are still also available as well as group booking tickets to get in cheaper than on the door tickets.
