🥊☀️ BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FROM JACK BISHOP’S GYM ☀️🥊

Right everyone…

I’ve been getting absolutely bombarded lately with the same question over and over again…

“Pete… are you going to do a summer camp for the kids?” 🤔

Honestly, I can’t escape it.

Parents asking me at the gym…

Kids asking me after training…

Messages coming through…

I’m half expecting someone to jump out from behind a bush while I’m walking down the road shouting:

“SUMMER CAMP PETE?! WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?!” 🤣

So…

I thought it was only fair that I finally sat down, took some time, had a proper think about it and looked at everything involved.

Because it’s a big decision.

I started thinking…

Imagine it…

The kids walking through the doors of Jack Bishop’s Gym during the summer holidays…

Gloves in their bags…

Smiles on their faces…

Ready for a day of old-school boxing, fitness, fun and learning new skills. 🥊

No sitting at home glued to Xbox…

No shouting “MUMMMM I’M BORED” after being awake for 12 minutes…

No opening the fridge 47 times hoping new food has magically appeared…

No arguing with their brother or sister because they breathed too loudly. 😂

I started thinking about the parents as well…

A few hours of peace…

A quiet house…

Being able to drink a cup of tea while it’s still hot for the first time since 2014. 🤣☕

Maybe even sitting there thinking:

“Pete, you absolute legend, keep them for the whole summer if you want.” 😂

Then I started thinking about the activities…

Boxing drills 🥊

Fitness challenges 💪

Team games 🏆

Confidence building 👊

Teaching the kids respect, discipline and everything Jack Bishop’s Gym stands for.

Maybe even finishing each day with tired kids going home…

Parents opening the door and instead of hearing chaos, they just hear:

“I’m tired, I’m going to chill.”

Every parent’s dream. 🤣

And I’ll admit…

The more I thought about it…

The more I started thinking…

This actually sounds like a brilliant idea.

The kids would love it.

The parents would love it.

The gym would be buzzing.

It would be a summer to remember.

So after all the messages…

After all the thinking…

After weighing everything up…

After looking at the positives…

After considering how much it would help the kids and the parents…

I have finally come to my decision about running a Jack Bishop’s Gym Summer Camp.

And my answer is…

Absolutely…

Definitely…

100%...

NO. 😂😂😂😂😂

Nice try parents.

You created these little monsters, you can entertain them for six weeks. 🤣🤣🤣

Love you all really 😂🥊

First of all, for all the boys having their first skills bouts and first times stepping out, I think every single one of them done amazing today. Proud of all of them.

First up we had Shay, who listened to everything he was told to do and carried it out perfectly. Really impressed with him and a great performance.

Then we had Teddy, who also done amazing. You could see the nerves were there in the first couple of rounds, which is completely normal for a first timer, but by the third round he settled right down, his confidence came through, and he really started letting his shots go and putting more into it. Really proud of the way he handled himself and pushed through the nerves.

After that we had Cole, who did exactly what he had to do and showed a lot of heart and effort in there. Another great performance.

Then we had Beau for his second proper bout. Personally, I reckon that bout was taken away from him, and a lot of people there were saying Beau won it on skill, movement, and the way he boxed. I thought he done enough to get the win, but that’s boxing sometimes. Either way, still very proud of Beau and the way he handled himself in there.

Lastly we had Wyatt, who listened well and gave it everything he had. Even though he was stopped in the third round, he still showed heart and courage getting in there.

Also a massive thank you to the referee, who done an amazing job throughout the day, especially with the skills bouts. Really good refereeing and making the boys feel comfortable and looked after in there.

And finally, a massive thank you to all the other clubs, coaches, boxers, and supporters that came to our home show today. There was some proper talent and brilliant boxing on display throughout the whole day, and every single boxer from every club done amazing and deserves respect for stepping through the ropes.

We’ve also had a lot of clubs offer to help out with sparring for the lads, which we really appreciate, and we’ll definitely be taking a lot of them offers up. That’s what boxing is all about — clubs helping each other and helping these young boxers improve and gain experience.

Keep an eye out for the future as well, because these boys will be coming back bigger, better, stronger, and more experienced every single time they step through those ropes.

Massive well done to every single one of the boys today. We’re looking forward to the massive future ahead for all of them and watching them continue to grow and improve at Jack Bishop Boxing Academy.
