Let's talk luxury print finishes.

Hot foil and letterpress are my very favourites 🖤. Each piece of paper is pressed with a plate to create a debossed image (imprinted into your paper).

With hot foil a thin piece of coloured foil is placed between the paper and plate to adhere the foil.

For letterpress the rollers are inked up (often with a hand mixed colour) and this ink is applied to the plate ready for printing.

For both processes each piece of card is fed (often by hand for small businesses) into the machine for stamping. 😅

This is why luxury fishes cost more: the materials and time. But trust me when I say it is so worth it!

This is a very simple whilstle stop tour- i haven't even mentioned alignment, pressure, packing, colour mixing, artwork preparation...if you want to learn more take a look at some of my previous reels to see the process in action!

I love shaped invites! Who doesn't like the fun of a 〰️ or scallop?! I do find that my favourite shapes always seem to be more organic though like this pebble.

Make sure you choose a stationer that creates the style you are after. It saves you time and money in the long run and allows designers to stay true to themselves.

Think about where your sweet spot is on this scale and then approach a stationer you would rate as being in the same area! You'll thank me later!
