There are some people who quietly shape your life without ever realising it 💓

25 years ago 😳 Mrs A was my A-Level Theatre Studies teacher, encouraging me to find my voice, tell stories, and stand in front of a room with confidence 🎭 (I was VERY shy)

Fast forward to last Saturday – on our 11th wedding anniversary, Matt and I were at Hope Mill Theatre when I bumped into her and we chatted in the loos (not shy now)

What made it even more special is that when I decided to become a celebrant, she was one of the very first people I turned to for advice. From guiding me through Theatre Studies to encouraging me on my celebrant journey, she’s been cheering me on across two very different chapters of my life 😍

Then she showed me her plaque on the wall at Hope Mill Theatre, and of course we had to grab a selfie 📷

Funny how life comes full circle. The people who teach us to tell stories often inspire us to spend our lives telling other people’s too - and we have lots! (Puking before my practical exam!🤢)

So lovely to see you, Mrs A. ❤️ Here’s to celebrating lives, love and all the stories in between.

And for those of you up north looking for a celebrant, be sure to look up Nicki Alderson, Celebrant 💃

Oh, and if you ever get chance to see In Pour Taste -
make sure you go for lots of laughs and lots of wine 🍷 and if you’re lucky, maybe a reunion or two 😊

For the first time in a long time, this weekend I got to put my feet up and just be a guest at a very special wedding…

Sara and Cal chose to have a registrar lead their ceremony as it was important to them to have their legal bit done on the same day ❤️

But I didn’t get away with it that easily as they very kindly asked me to be part of it… so in true Amy style I wrote a little poem and arranged for big sister Natalie to help me as a little surprise 😍

We didn’t get chance to rehearse together but I think you’ll agree we smashed it! 👏

Like the poem says - I’ve known Sara since BEFORE she was born. Her mummy had twins in April 1993 when I was just ten years old and it was the most exciting time EVER!

To watch them grow from the cutest babies to the most lovely grown ups and to be part of Sara’s special day was a real honour 🙏

Thanks for having me Sara and Cal… and thanks for the intro to the most amazing venue .weddings - I’ll be back!

If you want to chat about the difference between a celebrant and a registrar, and your options, give me a shout

I’m at a wedding otherwise I’d be there… go along if you can

We would like to invite you all to join us again this year for our annual Crematorium Open Day on Saturday 11th July 10am - 2pm. The day offers the opportunity to speak with our knowledgable staff, take tours behind the curtain and see how the cremation process works and talk to local charities and businesses that halo and support families during their difficult times.

I’m not gonna lie… I’m finding today hard

So to all those missing their special man today; I’m sending so much love and strength 💪 ♥️

As well as my own dad, I’m thinking about all the families I’ve supported this year who will be feeling the great hole today

I really hope the memories bring comfort and joy and you can laugh whilst sharing stories

Happy Father’s Day to all those amazing daddies out there. You are loved.

But most importantly… happy birthday to me 🥳

The sun is out especially. Hope you all have a lovely day whatever emotions the day brings

Lots of love,

Amy

This is your reminder that your wedding day won’t go EXACTLY to plan…

And the bits that go wrong will become the best bits. The belly laughing parts. The stories that are told for years to come.

So don’t sweat the small stuff… remember what’s important 👇

✔️ Marrying your favourite person
✔️ Being surrounded by the people you love
✔️ Having a bloody good time
✔️ Making memories

No matter how hard your plan, there will ALWAYS be something you can’t control…

☔️ The weather
🤷🏻‍♀️ The unexpected
😫 Or, in my case, dramatically falling over during our wedding breakfast entrance 💃

The funny thing is, it’s rarely the perfectly timed moments that people remember years later, it’s the unexpected bits; the mishaps - it’s the stories that get retold at family gatherings for decades.

So if something doesn’t quite go to plan on your wedding day, don’t panic. Chances are it’ll become one of your favourite memories. 🕺

And if I’m there - I’ve got you! It’s what I thrive on… my secret weapon is dealing with the unexpected… calm in a crisis? That’s me! Look how I recover from that fall (believe me - it hurt!)

Just another reason to book me for your big day… as a celebrant, an MC, a planner, a coordinator, or all of the above

💓 A beautiful memorial for Sue 🤍🍷

Sue died earlier this year in France, where she had a small private cremation with her son Louis by her side. This memorial in Shropshire gave family and friends the chance to come together properly, share stories, laugh, cry, raise a glass, and say goodbye in their own way.

And that’s the lovely thing about memorials… there’s no rush.

Guests arrived from 2pm at Oswestry Cricket Club, but we didn’t begin the service until 2.30, giving everyone time to grab a drink, mingle, reconnect, and share memories of Sue before we formally started. We invited guests to write down memories and stories for the family too, which brought so many smiles and tears throughout the afternoon.

The service itself was personal, relaxed, heartfelt, and full of Sue’s character; red lipstick, red wine, laughter, music, animals, France, family, and all the small details that made her her.

We ended with everyone raising a glass of her favourite red wine and a final “Cheers to Sue.” ❤️

Memorials are becoming more and more popular, and for good reason. Some families choose a private cremation first, some opt for a direct cremation, and others simply want more freedom, more time, and a less formal goodbye that truly reflects the person they love.

There is no right way to say goodbye; only the way that feels right for your family.

If you’d like to chat about memorials or alternative funeral options, my inbox is always open 🤍
