Faux stained glass suncatchers using pre cut paper stencils, tissue paper and sticky back plastic.

Tetra Pak Print-Making with Zoe Gale from Globe Arts

Tetra Pak print making- design a card or postcard, use our mini printing press! Using inspiration from the wildlife displays in the room, plus print outs of creatures, you will carefully transfer your drawing onto your printing plate (which you can also keep), ink it up, and send it through the rollers. You will have a beautiful and unique print to display at home!

Sat/Sun : 30 minute drop in slots between 10-4pm

Take some time for yourself and join Catherine to be guided through the process of creating a collaged landscape onto a notebook. Using both hand-printed and repurposed paper, the possibilities are endless. The price includes all the materials.

Create Your Own Mixed-Media Owl Card with Lucy Pimpernel Wood

Learn to draw a beautiful, textured owl using traditional stick and ink. In this one hour workshop, inspired by the illustrations of Anna Wright, you'll master simple inking skills and learn how to incorporate a real, tactile feather into your piece.

This year The Sons of the North will be providing food for our event again.

They will have a food truck and a pop up gazebo located on the front lawn of Cliffe House and will be serving Darkwoods barista coffee & hot drinks,

The menu includes burgers and fries with the following wraps.
Chicken tikka lettuce red onion and tomato with mint yoghurt dressing.
Chicken gyros with lettuce, tomato red onion and chipotle mayo
Grilled halloumi wrap with red pepper pesto and roasted med veg
Chicken tikka fries topped with cheddar and mint yoghurt dressing
Chicken gyros fries topped with cheddar and chipotle mayo.

With years of experience in the food and hospitality industry, Sons of the North really put Yorkshire on the map as one of the country’s finest producers of top quality food and ingredients. In 2020 they achieved a huge milestone winning the live wire prestige business award of Café of the Year in West Yorkshire.

At Sons of the North they showcase the best of British food and drink at their café in the North Light Gallery Mill, Armitage Bridge.

Luke Tankard & Ben Curtis, Yorkshire born & bred with James Erwin from the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland have worked in the Hospitality Industry all their lives ranging from traditional pubs, Michelin Star restaurants and 5 Star Hotels. Fate brought these Northern boys together to have the vision to create The Sons of the North.

Valley Beats Samba Band, directed by Community Percussionist Katie Mallard, is a vibrant community percussion group delivering an unforgettable explosion of powerful rhythms, infectious energy and feel-good carnival spirit. Made up of people from all parts of the community, the band proves that great music is for everyone.

Performing original music created collaboratively by the band, alongside rhythms inspired by Brazil and musical traditions from around the world, every performance is packed with excitement and carnival appeal.

They love audience participation and are bringing instruments for you to join in so you can become part of the action.

Valley Beats Samba Band is an open-access community group that rehearses on Wednesday mornings in Holmfirth and Thursday mornings in Denby Dale. Born from Raku clay and a little bit of imagination, our mythical Wicks have been created especially for Art At The House. 🌿🔥

Keep your eyes peeled for Meadowicks, Seawicks, Peatwicks and Treewicks as they hide along our nature treasure hunt trail, presented alongside information kindly provided by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Each Wick has its own connection to the natural world — but can you find them all? 🍃🌊🌳

Come and explore, discover and perhaps meet a Wick or two along the way! ✨
