Paul is an obsessive painter, living in South Yorkshire, became a full time artist after a long career as a hairdresser.

His paintings seek out to capture the mood and feel of unspoiled wild places, capturing the seasons, showing a phenomenal use of light and shadow in his distinctive refreshing contemporary style. Devoid of people, animals and buildings each piece offers the viewer a sense of place, drama, emotion and hopes for the future.

His greatest pleasure is seeing his work has taken its place on the wall of its new home.

.jackman.fibres - 'Hi, I’m Emma and I’m a self-taught fibre artist. I love experimenting with different techniques and materials to make my art. My main focus is weaving colourful wall art, but I also love to make my own sketchbooks and junk journals using old books and recycled papers.

My style is always evolving with every piece I make, but I love using lots of colour and texture. My work is mainly wool roving with added yarns, silks and art yarns that I have made myself, either by spinning or wet and dry felting. I love to create colour gradients using various sized hoops, from 15cm/6inch hoops to my largest work to date at 50cm/20inchs which I exhibited a few years ago in Holmfirth Art Week.

I also enjoy making a variety of sketchbooks using old and second-hand books. I repurpose the covers and create my own signatures using sketchbook paper, black paper or junk. The junk I use is a mixture of recycled papers I have bought and collected. I enjoy using old envelopes, book pages, old school books, brown paper, maps and diary pages. Some of these papers I then dye with coffee, turmeric or onion skins to add colour and texture to the pages.

I’ve only been creating for about 4 years now after having some bad health problems. I found being creative and having something colourful and positive to focus on has helped my mental health and given me a bit of a purpose. My health definitely limits what I am able to do day to day, so having something that is easy to pick up and then stop at any moment has really helped me.'
