Unfortunately, weโve made the difficult decision to ๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ our Family Summer Beach Party.
Iโll be completely honest โ ๐ ๐๐ข๐กโ๐ง ๐ช๐๐ก๐ง ๐ง๐ข ๐๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐๐๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฉ๐๐ก๐ง๐ฆ.
Itโs embarrassing for me when an event has to be cancelled. There is a huge amount of work that goes into putting an event together, but there is also a lot of work involved when we have to cancel one.
If we can take an event from start to finish, put on a fantastic show and everyone has a brilliant time, thatโs exactly what I want.
๐๐จ๐ง ๐ ๐๐ข๐กโ๐ง ๐ช๐๐ก๐ง ๐ง๐ข ๐ฅ๐จ๐ก ๐๐ก ๐๐ฉ๐๐ก๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ง ๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐ง๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฌ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฃ๐ฃ๐๐ก๐๐.
If we can already see that there is a very high possibility an event isnโt going to have enough people attending, I would much rather make the difficult decision early and be honest with everyone than leave it until the last minute.
This isnโt a decision weโve taken lightly, and I wanted to be completely honest with you about why.
Weโve been reviewing the event this week, and weโve reached the point where we need to start arranging prizes, decorations and all the other things that make this event work.
๐ช๐ ๐ช๐๐ก๐ง ๐ง๐ข ๐๐๐ฉ๐ ๐ฃ๐๐ข๐ฃ๐๐ ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐๐๐.
If we anticipate that an event is unfortunately unviable to run, we want to give our customers enough notice, but also make sure our staff have enough time to arrange their own plans.
I also hadnโt realised when initially planning the date that it fell over the ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ป๐ธ ๐ต๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ, so I appreciate that some families may be planning holidays or getting ready to go back to school around this time.
At the moment, we have just 18 tickets sold online โ 9 children and 9 adults โ with just over two weeks to go.
Unfortunately, that simply isnโt enough advance bookings to justify the significant cost involved in putting the event together to the standard we expect.
And honestly, this has also made us reflect on our family events throughout 2026.
Weโve tried a really varied programme this year โ Frozen, Danny Go Go, our Family UV Rave, the Summer Beach Party, and coming up in September we have the Miss Rachel Experience, Princesses & Superheroes and the Ultimate Popstar Party.
But for whatever reason, some of these themes simply havenโt landed in the way we hoped they would.
Weโre keeping a particularly close eye on the Princesses & Superheroes event too, as online interaction and ticket sales have been very limited so far. We may therefore look at changing that theme if we feel itโs the right thing to do.
๐ฆ๐ข ๐ช๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ข ๐ช๐ ๐๐ข ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐?
I think this has helped us decide where we want to go with our family events moving forward.
Rather than trying to fill the calendar with family events every few weeks, weโre looking at focusing on our core events such as ๐๐๐๐๐ข๐ช๐๐๐ก ๐ and ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐ง๐ ๐๐ฆ ๐, alongside a smaller number of carefully chosen family events throughout 2027 โ potentially one every couple of months.
Weโve also seen a few comments saying that Sundays arenโt ideal and that Saturdays would be better, while others have said they actually prefer Sundays!

If you already bought your tickets online, I will personally be contacting every single person who has booked to apologise and confirm your refund.
Once we click the refund button through our box office, the money is sent automatically. It can then take a couple of days for your bank to return the money to your account.
๐๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ ๐๐ข๐จ๐๐๐ง ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ฅ ๐ง๐๐๐๐๐ง๐ฆ ๐๐ก ๐ง๐๐ ๐๐๐จ๐, simply bring your tickets back to the bar and we will give you a ๐๐จ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐๐๐จ๐ก๐ โ no questions asked.
We will absolutely make sure everyone gets their money back.
Iโm genuinely sorry that weโve had to make this decision.
But, as I said when we cancelled the Frozen Party, I would much rather be honest and cancel an event than run something where the atmosphere isnโt what it should be.

If weโre going to put on a family show, I want it to be busy, exciting, full of energy and something that both the children and parents genuinely enjoy.
The events industry is incredibly turbulent at the moment, and weโre doing everything we can to keep our shows running and avoid cancellations wherever possible.
Unfortunately, on this occasion, weโve been left with no other option.
