THE TATNER’S STORY
Award-winning chef Kyle Tatner spent years cultivating an impressive reputation on the fine dining scene. However something was missing. That spark of adventure we find in his food reflects in his personal life as well and after numerous road trips across Europe with his wife, he discovered and explored new techniques and tastes which heavily inspires the food he cooks today. Using his carefully honed skills and a combination of styles from each region, Kyle created his own unique style of street food.
A natural progression followed. The creation of Tatner’s Catering and Events, where his street food style was incorporated with catering for all types of events, from small private gatherings, parties, pop-ups, corporate functions and festivals to numerous weddings.
Demand grew, so Kyle opened the legendary Tatner’s Kitchen street food establishment based at Broomhill Sands near Camber, East Sussex. A hot-spot for hungry kitesurfers, watersports enthusiasts and walkers it has proved to be a roaring success. However being coastal-based in the UK, it is seasonal.
This leads us to where we are now. Demand grew for year-round location and by chance, the perfect venue became available and as we don’t do traditional, why not open a street food restaurant in an old forge in Rye?!
