It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this page.

So many of you followed my journey through the Longbar years, and recently I’ve had lots of messages and people stopping me to ask how I am and what’s next.

The truth is, life looks very different these days.

If you’ve seen my personal social media, you’ll probably think I’m having an amazing time and in many ways I am. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to Las Vegas for work, make incredible memories, meet wonderful people and embrace opportunities I never expected.

But what social media doesn’t always show is that grief and happiness can exist side by side.

The last year has brought challenges I never imagined I’d face. Losing the Longbar was heartbreaking, and my marriage ended in circumstances I never expected. Whilst there are still ongoing matters I can’t discuss publicly, it’s been 4 months of rebuilding, healing and finding my feet again.

One thing I am incredibly grateful for is the support I’ve received. My best friends Julie and Martin have been there every step of the way. Before I took on the Longbar, I was actually due to work with them and somehow life has brought us back full circle. Through Redtooth Poker and their restaurant businesses they’ve given me opportunities, purpose, friendship and support when I needed it most.

And then there’s all of you. The messages, the support, the kindness and the encouragement. I will never take that for granted.

I’m still working out what my next chapter looks like, but one thing I know is
that I’m not finished yet.

Just to clarify to any new followers this page is no longer affiliated with The Longbar which is under new ownership.

While this isn’t how I would have chosen things to be handled, I’m stepping back with my head held high after everything I put into building it.

Last year, as a community we raised over £3,000 for Rotherham Hospice and I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who supported that.

This year, I want to raise again but this time for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, a charity that now means so much to my family.

In December, we sadly lost my beautiful niece Heidi and Bluebell Wood were an incredible support to our family during such a difficult time. Their services are truly amazing and tailored to each family they support, including overnight care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits, and so much more.

It costs around £6.5 million each year to keep their doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. Only 16% of that funding comes from statutory sources, meaning the rest has to be raised through fundraising and the generosity of the public.

I had originally planned to host fundraising events again at The Longbar the place I poured my heart and soul, alongside the amazing and supportive community that was behind it. Sadly that opportunity was taken away from me this year but all is not lost. If anything, it’s just lit even more fire in my belly.

I’m determined to keep going, keep rebuilding, and come back stronger and I’m sure many of you will continue to support me as my new venture arises. Together we can keep raising funds for this incredible hospice along the way.

A huge thank you to Dec Nortcliffe, who has also paid upfront to brave the wing walk with me on Friday 21st August. We’ll be making plenty of content so you can all witness the day with us.

Our fundraising begins now, and every single penny donated will go directly to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Watch out for all the other exciting things to come as I gain back my strength…

Community has always been the foundation of everything I build.

From the events, to the fundraising, to the space people felt proud to be part of 🥹 that heart hasn’t changed.

What has changed is the vision.

You don’t lose what you’ve built when you’ve poured so much heart into it.
Work ethic doesn’t disappear.
Experience doesn’t get swept away.
Community doesn’t vanish.

I’m not being knocked down.
I’m evolving.

The support I’ve received over the last few weeks has been incredible. The messages, the encouragement, the quiet belief, it all means more than you know 🫶🏻

When you build with heart, the right people stay.

This next chapter will be intentional, protected and built with even more purpose.

Grateful. Focused. Moving forward.
