Dear Havering Changing Family Members,

We would like to invite you to our next Collier Row Skill Share Social on Saturday 3 October, 4 pm - 7 pm at the Sapphire Jubilee Community Centre, Collier Row.

Haiku About You (And You, And You)
Join poet and creative health facilitator Lalah-Simone Springer for a collaborative poetry-writing session as part of Collier Row Skills Share.

In this session, we will learn about haiku, then write poems based on our life experiences. After editing our poems, attendees can choose to place a few lines they have written during the session into a collaborative poem. There will also be an opportunity for participants to take part in a conversation game designed to find out what we have in common as a group. Join us for a playful, trauma-informed, family-friendly poetry experience that aims to inspire you to keep writing long after the session has ended.

Lalah-Simone Springer is a poet, creative health facilitator, musician, and speculative fiction writer (she/they). Lalah’s debut poetry collection, An Aviary of Common Birds (Broken Sleep Books), was released alongside their debut album Cyclical Music and long-listed for the Merky Books New Writers Prize. Collaborations as a performance artist have been staged at The Barbican, Whitechapel Gallery, the Southbank Centre and more.
