This bright, modern building provides a welcoming space for the whole community, particularly young peo

ple, to take part in fun and engaging activities. Our packed programme includes youth clubs, sports, youth action, advice, music and arts. The building offers superb dance and performance space, a recording studio, games room, a café, art room, workshop and computer suite. These are all available to hire for those who would like to run their own clubs, events or activities. Built as part of the Harold Hill Ambitions Project, in partnership with Havering Council and the Big Lottery Fund, myplace officially opened its doors to the public in June 2012. Call in at any time, our friendly staff will be happy to give you a tour and provide information about our current activities.

Oestrogen Assemble @ MyPlace, Harold Hill

With a cast of over 30 women spanning three generations, many of whom writing for the stage for the first time, Oestrogen Assemble will make you laugh, as well as offering you space to reflect.

Created in response to a number of provocations, this community-led piece explores body image, menstruation, menopause and aging through original songs, scenes, monologues and poetry.

Local Girl Productions is a women-only participatory theatre company, telling extraordinary stories about ordinary humans.

LGP supports Havering Women’s Aid and invite you to bring a donation of toiletries with you to the show.

Havering Council is delighted to launch their 2025 11-18 Art Competition & Exhibition. Submissions are welcome from all within this age range. All media, whether 2D or 3D are welcome. Artwork must be appropriate for all ages to view in terms of content.

Please photograph your work and send in via email to [email protected]. Once consent has been organised, all suitable artwork will become part of an online exhibition, shared on Havering Council Art & Culture YouTube channel.

11-18 Competition Terms & Conditions

• No entry fee
• Ages 11 to 18 years old are eligible to enter
• All media whether 2D or 3D work are eligible
• Work must be appropriate for all ages to view in terms of content
• Only first name and age category will be published in the online gallery
• Judges’ decision is final
• Consent forms must be completed and returned, without this information we are unable to publish art works on our online platforms
• Important- should anyone wish to enter a portrait/self-portrait then consent for this to be shown in the exhibition cannot come from teachers or individuals under 18 years old, we must ask that in this case the consent is provided by the parent/carer/guardian of the individual shown in the artwork or if they are over 18 then they can consent themselves.
• Only original arts works accepted. Copyright laws apply.

There will be one OVERALL WINNER for the best entry in any category, plus– first and second place for 11-14 year olds, first and second place for 15 -16 year olds and first and second place for 17-18 year olds (number of entries permitting). Commended certificates will also be awarded at the judges’ discretion. The prizes will be an offer for the winners to share their art portfolio with the borough through their own virtual exhibition.
