Why I Love Canapés So Much…

As a chef, there’s something I absolutely LOVE about canapés. ❤️

They may be small, but they give us such a huge opportunity to be creative!

A canapé is like a little edible work of art, a perfect balance of flavour, texture, colour and presentation, all in one delicious bite. 👨‍🍳✨

I love taking beautiful ingredients and turning them into something that makes people stop, look, smile… And then say “Oh my gosh” 😋

For me, it’s not just about making food that tastes amazing. It’s about creating those little moments of excitement at your event, something guests can enjoy while mingling, celebrating and making memories.

And because let’s be honest… Everything tastes better when it’s bite-sized!

From elegant and sophisticated to fun, quirky and completely indulgent, creating canapés is one of my favourite parts of being a chef.

Sir Rufus Marvel Shay… 👀🐾

Head of Barketing here at Oh My Nosh! and official bringer of toys for immediate play! 🧸😂

His daily responsibilities include:
🐶 Supervising the team
🐾 Ensuring all toys are put to good use
❤️ Providing unlimited cuddles and moral support

We’re not entirely sure he’s earning his keep… But he certainly knows how to make himself indispensable! 😂

HINTONS CURED SALMON | ORANGE | YOGURT | DILL

Last night I had the absolute pleasure of catering for a family gathering, away for a weekend together to celebrate grandad and nanny's 55th wedding anniversary.

Nanny came into the kitchen to introduce herself and dropped the bomb that she studied catering, and even went on to teach it! So I knew the pressure really was on! 👊🏼

RHUBARB FOOL

Back in July, as peak British rhubarb season came to an end, we created this light, summery dessert for a hen party of eighteen.

It brought together poached, pickled and puréed rhubarb, rhubarb shortbread crumb, and whipped British cream folded through with vanilla bean.

There’s something rather special about preparing food ahead of time... Letting those beautiful flavours develop slowly so that, when Saturday arrives, everything is ready to plate, serve and enjoy.
