I didn't post for a week, that's unlike me! I've actually been feeling a bit under the weather for a couple weeks now. Some viral thing going around maybe? Which coincided almost perfectly with me having some downtime in July.

1. Getting about 8 eggs a day from the chickens
2. Flowers in full swing too
3. Good garden. Good book. Good wine
4. Ayrshire looking damn fine in the sun
5. Said good book, a gift from my neighbour.

Back with a vengeance over the next few weeks though. 2 weddings this month, a load of freelance work, a tonne of wedding enquiries I haven't been feeling well enough to respond to yet (if that's you - don't worry, I will be in touch very soon)

As always though, bunches of some very cheery seasonal can be ordered through the website (link in bio)

Last weekend I was invited down to by the for a tour of the gardens, afternoon tea, and the opportunity to network with the 35 under 35. Thunder was forecast but fortunately the weather held strong.

The gardens were a delight, as you can imagine I was in my element, scouting interesting varieties, and growing techniques. I was thrilled to see sustainability in action in the gardens at the King's private residence. Nothing was as neatly and overly manicured as one might expect from such a residence. Organic practices in action in both the veg and flowers gardens, teeming with pollinators of all varieties, plants spilling out of borders, and even some of our native wildflowers taking up residence in paths (some may call them weeds, but I call them what the majority are, native wildflowers)

As some of you might be aware, I've taken a little step back this month to look after my mental health. So it was a wonderful couple days away to reset and get to know some really interesting people

Last week I culled all my snapdragons that were too far gone to sell this week. There was a LOT of them. So I decided to practice a little flower cloud. Using the sustainable base of agrawool and chicken wire.

I then attempted to take photos of something so vibrant, luminous and colour it physically hurt my eyes to look at, including editing those photos to take it down a notch on here so it doesn't just look like a cloud of glowing radioactivity 😂

If your event or wedding could do with a touch of extreme vibrancy, get in touch 💐

I remind you all every year, but it's that time again Butterfly Conservation's Big Butterfly Count. So if you have a spare 15 minutes to sit and look for butterflies, it would be beneficial to some important research.

Why?
Butterflies are a good indicator species. Which means they react quite significantly to minor changes in the environment and their local ecosystem. Studying the rise and fall of numbers of butterflies, and also what type of butterflies are in certain areas can tell scientists a lot about how our environment is changing (as well as monitoring the numbers of the butterflies species themselves).

The easiest way to collect this data from the entire length and breadth of the country is for people to volunteer 15 minutes of their time to say what butterflies they can see, on a sunny day while enjoying time outdoors in their garden or local park etc. 🦋

I've already done my first count this morning before the rain. Then rescued this gorgeous large white butterfly that had got itself stuck in the polytunnel.

Large whites are also referred to as the cabbage whites, as their caterpillars love munching on brassicas (cabbage, broccoli, kale, sprouts etc) - so we had strict words - I saved her? She stays away from my veg? Deal? 😅

One of the things I fear is taking a step back from my work and losing momentum. It's hard working from home but trying to be seen.
I worry if I stop posting on here people will forget WilderBlooms exists.

I've taken slight step back the past couple weeks and not posted on here as frequently and you all proved me wrong. Infact loads of you wanted flowers this week. Maybe I should stop talking more often? 😜

Anyway, I'm off on a road trip with and at the weekend. Any guesses where we might be headed?

Ive been feeling a little burnt out lately. Not majorly, but enough to know i need to slow down and rest a little this month.

Being self employed is tough, i knew it would be tough, but this past month has tested me quite a bit. I dont have a team behind me, everything you see here is done by me alone. The flowers, both growing and arranging, the social media, the website, the photographs, the emails, admin, packaginging, postage, deliveries, wedding consultations, the accounting, the stock taking, attending events, doing pop ups, markets, workshops, weddings, freelancing.

The past month an a half was so busy with both wins and failures. An emotional rollercoaster of a month.

So this is just an apology in advance if im a bit slower in responding to your messages or emails. I need to reset slightly. And spend more time in the garden, and less time on admin over the next few weeks.

That being said, please dont hesitate to get your July bouquet delivery orders in or get in contact with a wedding enquiry. This is where my priorities are lying this month.

I dont think i can ever thank you all enough for supporting me. Building a small business is hard, and i look anxiously at all the bumps in the road ahead of me (perhaps in a bit too much detail at the moment) but i also look how far ive come and i know im getting there, slowly but surely. But i couldnt have got this far without you all. So thanks again.

Time to go sit in the poly tunnel with a cup of tea ✌️
