Heart tributes always feel especially personal.

They carry a softness to them that can say so much — love, closeness, family, friendship, memory.

These designs show two very different approaches to the same tribute style.

One is more traditional, with a white chrysanthemum base and delicate floral details. The other is brighter and more expressive, with colour worked through the design to create something more vibrant and individual.

That’s one of the things I think matters so much with funeral flowers. Even when the shape is the same, the finished tribute can tell a very different story depending on the colours, flowers and overall feeling a family wants to create.

From soft and gentle to bright and full of personality, each piece should feel thoughtful, personal and made with care.

A funeral cross can be made in more than one way.
Some families prefer a traditional based cross: neat, classic and formal, with a soft spray of flowers added for detail.
Others prefer something looser and more natural, where the flowers and greenery are worked through the whole shape so it feels softer and more garden-like.
Neither is “better” — they simply say something different.
That’s one of the things I care about with funeral flowers. It isn’t just about choosing a wreath, spray, sheaf or cross. It’s about choosing the feeling behind it: peaceful, traditional, natural, colourful, gentle, personal.
These cross tributes were made in whites, creams and soft greens, with roses, lisianthus, chrysanthemums, eucalyptus and natural foliage.
Made with care, for love, memory and farewell.

A soft front-facing arrangement, made in pinks, lilacs, whites and natural greens.

This kind of design is one of those pieces that can sit in lots of different settings. It could be used as a thoughtful sympathy arrangement, placed at a funeral service or wake, or made as a fresh floral display for a reception, office, salon, restaurant, event or business space.

I made this one in a loose, garden-inspired style with roses, gerberas, lisianthus, carnations, eucalyptus and seasonal textures.

It feels gentle, full and welcoming — the kind of arrangement that brings softness and colour without overwhelming the space.

From market flowers to funeral flowers.

The weekend was full of peonies, bunches, wrapping paper and people choosing flowers to take home. Now the workshop has shifted into something quieter.

Buckets of whites, creams, soft pinks, eucalyptus, chrysanthemums and roses are waiting to be made into funeral pieces.

It’s a very different kind of floristry, but one I care about deeply.

Flowers can say so much when words feel difficult. They can be gentle, personal, comforting, traditional, natural, or full of character — and I think that’s what makes funeral flowers so important.

This week I’ll be working on some soft, thoughtful farewell flowers, made slowly and with care.

A few close-ups from the stall today 🌸

The peonies are starting to open beautifully, and they smell absolutely gorgeous — soft, fresh and properly summery.

There are still a few seasonal bunches here with peonies, cream roses, purple campanula, grasses and little cottage-garden details.

I’ll be here a little while longer if you’d like to come and choose some Sunday flowers.

Sunday flowers in the sunshine 🌸

I’ve had such a lovely morning chatting to people, sending bunches off to new homes, and getting to meet a few more local faces.

There are still some pretty seasonal flowers on the stall, so if you’re out for a Sunday wander, do come and say hello.

I’ll be here a little while longer at New Longton Village Hall.

A little market update 🌸
Some of the bunches are already selling out, and it’s been so lovely seeing flowers going off to new homes this morning.
There are still some beautiful seasonal bunches left, but a few different styles have already gone.
If you’re thinking of coming by, I’d love to see you.

The sun is shining and I’m all set up at New Longton Market today 🌸

I’m feeling excited — and actually quite confident — to be here with fresh seasonal flowers, all made up and ready to go to new homes.

I’ve brought along hand-tied bunches with peonies, cream roses, campanula, stocks, grasses and lots of pretty cottage-garden stems.

Please do come and say hello if you’re nearby — it would be lovely to see you.

The first bunches are made and ready for tomorrow.

Soft peonies, cream roses, campanula, stocks, poppy seed heads, airy grasses and little touches of pink filler — all wrapped up in kraft paper and green tissue.

They’re feeling very soft, seasonal and cottage-garden inspired.

I’ll have a selection of fresh hand-tied bunches available tomorrow at New Longton Village Hall, all made by hand and ready to take home.
