Good Luck to all our GCSE students picking up their results today..... and their parents. The wait is finally over.
I saw a post from a mum this morning that I really liked about how instead of celebrating our kids grades, we compare their grades to their friends, to their siblings and this can take away from them 'how well' they've actually done. How hard they worked to get those grades.
I know I'll be sitting with so many yr 11s today or maybe some yr 12s who have resat some of their GCSEs, who have done so so well but yet they'll still be disappointed because their friend did better, or their parents expected better from them. They forget to be proud of themselves for how well they have actually done.
So remind them of how proud you are of them. No matter what the grade, this is just a stepping stone to the next stage of their journey. Xx
