[TW: mental illness]... In the spirit of Mental Health Awareness week, I wanted to share something deeply personal, not only to help raise awareness, but to say that my couples will ALWAYS have a safe space when working with me.
I am neurodivergent and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety as a teenager. Later in my twenties and into my early thirties, I realised I had suffered with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) for most of my life.
I know what it means to live in a world with a "different" brain. Life can be immensely challenging if you don't "fit in" to norms. I know how lonely, scary and hard it can feel. But over the years, I have learned to embrace the positives. I am resilient, empathetic, and understanding.
I'm normally a very private person, so I have been reluctant to share my experience on here. But it is so incredibly important to me that my couples and other suppliers feel that working with me is a safe space.
Planning a wedding can be stressful. It certainly was for me at times. I want you all to know that you are welcome, your voice matters and I promise I will do everything I can to ensure your wedding stationery experience with me reflects that.
So, if you do have specific needs or a way of doing things that will make things easier for you, let me know. There will be no judgement and total understanding, with no need to explain why.
This is a safe space. Whatever that looks like to you. You are valid. You are worthy of feeling special during this amazing time in your lives, and I promise I will do whatever I can to make you feel that.
