Bride Lauren asked for hot pink and red, mixed with tropical foliage, because of her many houseplants, and we completely remixed a classic teardrop bouquet with angles, colour and big blooms. She's a beauty 🩷❤️💋

Employee of the week 🌟

I must admit for all the faults the Navara had, it was a beast in the bad weather and selling it in the spring left a hole in my confidence for winter working.

The Townstar has however been a plucky wee thing this week, through blizzards and black ice, what a trooper.

Special thanks to Sandy at AB51 Mobile Tyre Service for getting the winter wellies fitted on Monday just in the nick of time. What a guy!

Call it what you will, a teardrop, waterfall or cascading bouquet, the idea is the same.
The bride holds the stems infront of them and the flowers flow down.

Julia wanted larger headed blooms which we carefully balanced so it would still be a lightweight piece to hold, she also asked for some trailing ivy which created gorgeous lines.

🌿 A little reintroduction from me 🌿

Hello, I am Emma and I am the florist and stationer behind Paper & Petals. If you have been here a while thank you for sticking around and if you are new I am really glad you are here.

Paper & Petals turned ten this year which still makes me smile. What began as a creative escape from my accounting day job has grown into a business that lets me work with flowers, design beautiful stationery and help couples bring their wedding ideas to life. I am grateful every single day for how things have panned out.

As we head into the slower season I am ready for a little breathing space. I am looking forward to recharging, taking the dog out without a million thoughts racing through my head, celebrating a birthday and settling in for some brilliantly bad telly.

Flower wise it is a wee bit of a trickier time of year but double tulips are back, the narcissus are creeping in and it feels like spring is getting closer. I am not a winter lover and snow makes everything harder than it needs to be, but I will admit it is much easier to dress for the cold - pass the chunky knits!

I am based at Oldmeldrum Business Centre and when I am not flowering for weddings you will usually find me taking a solid year to read a book, helping the takings at the local or sampling an afternoon tea or two.

Thank you for being here and supporting what I do. I cannot wait to share more from this year's beautiful weddings, and keep your eyes peeled for something big dropping tomorrow.
