🌈 Colour, curves and creativity ✨

A design from the practice files that reminds me why I love face painting so much.

This piece combines bright rainbow colours, bold linework and metallic highlights to create something fun, vibrant and completely open to interpretation. Sometimes the most enjoyable designs aren’t characters or animals at all — they’re simply an opportunity to play with colour, shape and symmetry.

As many of you know, I don’t post photographs of children’s faces on my business page. Children’s privacy is important to me, so I’ve recreated this design on an adult model to showcase the artwork itself.

One of the things I love most about face painting is that no two designs have to be the same. Some people see flowers, some see wings, some see festival vibes — and that’s part of the magic.

⛵ Sailing into new designs! 🌊

A little practice piece on my practice head this evening.

As many of you know, I don’t post photographs of children’s faces on my business page. Children’s privacy is important to me, so most of the designs you see here are painted on my practice head instead.

This design features a sailing boat riding through ocean waves, with lots of white highlights and movement to bring the water to life. It was a fun change from the usual animals, superheroes and princess-inspired requests!

One of the things I enjoy most about face painting is that almost anything can become a design. Whether it’s a favourite animal, a beloved character, or something completely different like a boat at sea, there’s always a new challenge to try.

Every practice session helps me develop new techniques and build a wider range of designs for future events and parties.

🐉 Dragon practice from the archives! 🐉

This is one of the designs I’ve been revisiting recently as I continue building my portfolio and refining my techniques.

As many of you know, I don’t post photographs of children’s faces on my business page. Children’s privacy is important to me, so I’ve recreated this design on an adult model to showcase the artwork itself.

This dragon design combines bold greens, fiery orange accents, scales, horns and claws to create a fierce mythical creature that’s always a hit with children who love dragons, dinosaurs and fantasy characters. 💚🧡

I’ve had some very enthusiastic dragon fans choose this design over the years, and it’s one of those faces that instantly transforms the wearer into their character.

One of my favourite things about face painting is watching confidence grow the moment someone sees themselves in the mirror and becomes a dragon, tiger, superhero or mermaid for the day.

🌊✨ Seahorse sparkle ✨🌊

A little body art practice piece that I couldn’t resist sharing!

This colourful seahorse combines vibrant ocean colours, shimmering details, bubbles and plenty of glitter to create something magical and full of underwater charm. 🩵🩷

One of the things I love about face and body art is how a simple design can be transformed with colour blending, highlights and just the right amount of sparkle. The glitter on this one catches the light beautifully and really brings the whole piece to life.

I’ve had some excited sea-life lovers choose similar designs, and it’s always lovely seeing how much joy a colourful underwater creature can bring.

🖤 Venom practice tonight! 🖤

A little superhero (or should that be supervillain? 😈) practice on my practice head this evening.

As many of you know, I don’t post photographs of children’s faces on my business page. Children’s privacy is important to me, so most of the designs you see here are painted on my practice head instead.

This Venom-inspired design focuses on the iconic eye, oversized teeth and dripping symbiote effect. It’s bold, dramatic and definitely one for the Marvel fans!

I’ve had some very enthusiastic requests for Venom at events, especially from children who want something a little more fierce than the usual animals and superheroes. The giant grin always gets a reaction! 🦷🖤

One of the things I love about face painting is the variety. One moment I’m painting flowers and mermaids, the next I’m creating villains with enormous teeth!

💙 Gotta paint fast! 💙

Another design from the practice files today, this time for the Sonic fans! 🎮

As a face painter, I spend a lot of time practising designs that children are actually asking for right now. While butterflies, tigers and mermaids will always be popular, gaming characters are becoming bigger requests at parties and events too.

This Sonic-inspired design is quick, bold and instantly recognisable — perfect for busy events where children want to transform into their favourite character and get back to having fun as quickly as possible!

One of my favourite things about face painting is that no two days are ever the same. One child wants a princess, the next wants a dragon, and then someone asks for Sonic! 😊

🐯 Cheetah transformation! 🐯

One the things I love about face painting is seeing a design come to life once it’s on a real face. A few brush strokes, some colour, and suddenly you’re not looking at a person anymore… you’re looking at a cheetah ready to pounce! 🐅

This cheetah design has been a firm favourite with animal lovers and is one I’ve spent a lot of time practising and refining. It’s bold, expressive and always seems to bring out people’s wild side!

Whether it’s tigers, dragons, superheroes, mermaids or butterflies, my favourite part of face painting is seeing someone look in the mirror and instantly become their character.

🧜‍♀️ Another mermaid design from the practice head this evening ✨

This design combines a mermaid silhouette, tropical colours, one-stroke flowers and flowing underwater-inspired swirls to create something bright, magical and full of movement. 🌊💜🩷

I’ve had some very excited girls choose mermaid designs recently, and they’re always one of the most popular requests at events. There seems to be something about mermaids, flowers and a bit of sparkle that never goes out of style!

One thing I’ve really enjoyed as I’ve progressed with face painting is discovering how many different ways there are to paint the same theme. No two mermaids need to look alike, and experimenting with different colour combinations and layouts is half the fun.

This one is for the Minecraft fans! Featuring a Creeper breaking through a pixelated background, this design is quick to paint, instantly recognisable and always a popular choice with gaming enthusiasts. 🎮💥

I’ve had some very excited children choose Minecraft-inspired designs at events, and they’re often the first thing requested when I ask, “What would you like painted today?”

Not every face paint needs glitter and flowers — sometimes a simple gaming design is exactly what makes someone’s day! 😊

Every practice session helps me improve my speed and confidence, especially with designs that need to be completed quickly at busy school fairs and community events.

🧜‍♀️ Another mermaid design from the practice head this evening ✨

As many of you know, I don’t post photographs of children’s faces on my business page. Children’s privacy is important to me, so most of the designs you see here are painted on my practice head instead.

This design features a mermaid silhouette surrounded by ocean-inspired colours, one-stroke details and plenty of sparkle. I wanted something that felt a little dreamy and magical, almost like looking into an underwater sunset. 🌊💜🩷

I’ve had some very excited girls choose similar mermaid designs at events, and it’s always lovely watching them rush off to show everyone their “real mermaid” face paint!

Every practice session helps me improve my brush control, symmetry and design placement, and gives me new ideas to bring to parties, school fairs and community events.
