To all our clients.

The last few days have been terribly difficult in light of the governments decision to close all pubs and venues etc (Absolutely needed to protect the old and vulnerable during this crisis).

We're devastated for our customers who've been affected with their functions and worried for those affected by this horrible virus.

We would like to reassure all our customers and give you a promise that DJ Cornwall weddings will survive this, there's no real danger of the company not recovering as overheads are relatively small also DJ Cornwall Weddings been a part time business.

Despite all the above we also want to reassure all our customers that have booked and have or may have to cancel their bookings with us that we will not abandon you or forgotten about you.

•Any bookings that you need to reschedule we will do this free of charge and with all deposits and payments staying in place hence our Entertainment contracts supplied by DJ Cornwall Weddings

•Any bookings that are not suitable or impossible for you to reschedule and you need to cancel. As this is an unprecedented crisis we will be refunding any money paid back to you. This unfortunately will have to be once everything gets back to some normality. It will be swift once we all can get earning once again or we're included in any government financial help.

•If you're rescheduling and we're unable to cover your new date we will assist you to our other DJ who works along the side of DJ Cornwall Weddings if I'm personally booked out on another job etc.

All our customers DJ Cornwall Weddings have dealt with over the last few days have been fantastically understanding, we thank you for that from the bottom of our hearts.

Please, please stay safe, love and best wishes to you all.

Kind regards
Richard

As we all know know laws have changed since 25th May 2018. please take note of this to all my future customer's and present clients on my books etc. DJ Cornwall discos are now going to be working on a new entertainments contracts as we speak to fulfill with the new law requirements. Regards Richard

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which becomes law on the 25th May 2018, will apply to all businesses which hold personal information (ie any information that can identify a living person including (but not limited to) name, address, email etc). It applies to the sole trader in the same way as the largest companies trading with or within the EU.

Businesses that hold personal information will need to answer the following questions:

Where did the personal information come from? (eg an enquiry form on your website, a phone call, etc)
Why do you have this information? (What is your lawful basis for collecting/holding this information – see 8 below)
How long have you had this information and do you still need it? (eg was it an enquiry for an event that has now passed or where you didn’t get the booking). If you no longer need the information then you should delete or destroy it.
Do you share the information? If so, you will need to tell the customer that you intend to share it and who you intend to share it with. (eg do you have arrangements with other professionals to share enquiries). You should also have a contract with these other people clearly stating their responsibilities in relation to the data you pass to them (ie what they can and cannot do with the personal information).
Sharing a customers’ personal details on social media (eg if you cannot do the gig yourself) is not permitted unless you have notified the customer of your intention to do this and it has been accepted by them.

Other Responsibilities of ‘Data Controllers’ & ‘Data Processors’
Individuals have the right to know how their personal data is being processed and the right to ask for a copy of all the information that you hold about them. They also have the right for information about them to be corrected if inaccurate and the ‘right to be forgotten’ (ie request that the information you hold on them is removed or deleted).
You should have arrangements in place to hold personal information securely. This includes locking filing cabinets and password protecting devices that hold personal information to protect against unauthorised or illegal use.
If a data breach occurs and it is likely to result in damage to a person’s reputation, financial loss, loss of confidentiality or major financial or social disadvantage, then you should notify the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) without delay.
If the breach is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals, you should also contact them directly without undue delay.
Lawful basis for holding/processing personal information. There are six lawful bases for processing data. The two that are most likely to apply to DJs are:
A. Consent: the individual has given clear consent for you to process their personal data for a specific purpose.
B. Contract: The processing is necessary for a contract you have with the individual or because they have asked you to take specific steps before entering into a contract.
The way you handle personal data and how you intend to use it should also be included within a privacy notice on your website.
