At Purple Gecko Events, we pride ourselves on being welcoming, supportive & inclusive (Whilst also having epic medals!)

We are a small Cornwall based events company, specialising in trail runs, the majority of which have no cut off times allowing runners of all levels, ages & abilities to participate at their own pace. Whether it be a 2.5K fun run around a beautiful Cornish lake or a 20K trek ove

r some of the most scenic coast path the South West has to offer, we have something for everyone. For those more experienced & adventurous, we have longer distance events including 3 ultramarathons on our race calendar, showcasing the most stunning coast line, moorland & countryside. We have a new distance for you on this years Fairy Tale Of Newquay!! Introducing 'The Pisky', a fun but mischievous 8 Mile route from Newquay to Mawgan Porth and back again starting at 10am with Canicross welcome! Spaces limited for the first year:)

In addition to the 30 Mile Ultra and 15 Mile Long Half there is a festive distance to suit all:)

The Cardinham Woods - Forestry England Twilight 5 & 10 Miler is back on Saturday 22nd November 2025 now with an all new 5k distance!

Brave the dark Forest & take part in a challenging headtorch 5 Mile or 10 Mile trail run at Cardinham Woods near Bodmin! The course is a heavily marked 5 mile loop with marshals at key points and a waterpoint at the 5 Mile mark and finish.

Canicross start 4pm (Individual Time Trial starts).
Trail Runners start 4.05pm.

Headtorch required, no cut off times, Canicross welcome, personalised bibs, everyone receives a Twilight medal; awards for the top finishers and free race photography

(5k complete a shorter loop, 10 Mile entrants complete the 5 Mile loop twice)

The PGE 5k & 10k 2025 – 2026 Canicross Championship sponsored by Non-stop dogwear!

Here is what we have in store for you in the coming Canicross Championship season!
• 8 epic stages between October and April culminating in the Final at ‘new Canicross venue’ Roadford Lake.
• 10 spot prizes for each of the stages with winners drawn ahead of the event.
• Non-stop dogwear retail, with demo kit & support at key stages.
• Medals for all, pin badges for your running buddies and awards for top finishers on each stage.
• Top 20 finishers in each distance earn championship points.
• Awards for top 3 male & female Championship winners in each distance at the end of the season.

Stage 1 – Scorrier Halloween Event 26th Oct.
Stage 2 – Haldon Halloween Event 1st Nov.
Stage 3 – Lobster Lollop 15th Nov.
Stage 4 – Santa Scamper 6th Dec.
