Hey all,
My name is Rhys, I’m the eldest son of Sara - the supremely talented woman behind Sixpence, Sweet Treats & Bakes.
It is with the deepest regret, I announce the sudden passing of my beautiful Mum, on Tuesday 11th of August 2026, in Pompei, Italy.
We, as a family, are beyond heartbroken and in total disbelief at this monumental loss.
My Mum was incredibly passionate about her business and took great pride in satisfying all her customers with their sweet treats and bakes. I, along with my family were so very proud of her for the service she provided to those of you that bought from her.
Whether it be once, twice or many times I personally would like to thank you on behalf of her and our family for your custom, my Mum loved a challenge and was somewhat of a perfectionist, anything she did in life was done with her 100% undivided attention and commitment.
We can’t even begin to imagine life without my Mum, she was central to our family. The kindest, most selfless and courageous person anyone had the pleasure of knowing, she was so loved, she was truly our whole wide world.
I’m very sorry to announce this news and understandably, the business is now permanently closed.
I have a younger brother and family to support going forward, it is my duty to my Mum to make sure I stay strong and look after them, no doubt we are all going to need each other to get through this unimaginable time in our lives.
If you’ve got this far, thank you for taking the time to read this post. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your orders - you made my Mum so very happy by acknowledging her talent and choosing to go with her for your sweet treats and bakes.
