A big thank you to everyone that helped make the Grain Bin Bar project happen. A dislocated thumb, uncertainty due to COVID and a tight filming schedule certainly didn’t make things easy.

Without the support, time and resources of so many people I doubt I would have started the conversion yet alone completed it in time.

I’m sure I’m not the only one to think it looked so much better in person than the cameras showed it!

Over 40 years old and looking better than ever. I grew up as a child admiring these buildings across the countryside and whilst they were never designed or intended to be pretty, I find their character rather charming.

It's sad to now see so many being removed and replaced with industrial drying sheds. Lets hope these aren't the last ones to escape the scrap metal merchant!

October 2017 and without any plan as to what they would become, I fell in love and subsequently purchased these disused grain bins on a farm in Loughton, Essex.

Only several weeks before, I'd been inspired after reading about the work of designer Christoph Kaiser and his converted grain bin tiny home. With creative ideas flowing and a chance encounter with a property developer who was about to have them scrapped, I became the new owner of these charming structures.
