💙 I’m not quite sure how to put Saturday into words… but THANK YOU. 💙
When you create something new, you never really know if people are going to believe in it. You put the idea out there, hope people will trust you enough to buy a ticket… and then you wait.
On Saturday, I stood there looking around a room full of people laughing, dancing, chatting and enjoying themselves and had one of those little moments where I thought, “We actually did this.”
And what made it even more special was that we didn’t know over 80% of the people who came.
You didn’t buy a ticket because you knew us. You took a chance on McCue The Music, a brand most of you had never heard of, and trusted us to give you a brilliant day.
That means more to me than you probably realise. ❤️
There are so many people I need to thank.
The amazing Natasha watts gave us not one but two wonderful sets and then incredibly generously donated our star raffle prize. Natasha, thank you — you were an absolute joy to have with us.
Sean McCabe what a fantastic set. Thank you for being part of our day and for your incredibly kind personal donation to Dementia UK too.
And to Jeff Gee, Jon Coomer, Emily Vassell, Simon 'Schooly' Phillips, Steve Reed(Blackwax) — thank you for bringing the tunes, the energy and keeping that dancefloor moving all day. Seeing people dancing and enjoying themselves was exactly what I had hoped for when we first imagined this event.
To The Harboro Hotel and the whole team — thank you for welcoming us, putting up with us taking over for the day and keeping everyone fed and watered. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts.
Our Official Gin Partner Multum Gin Parvo — thank you for getting behind what we’re trying to build. And I think anyone who tried the Sting in the Tail cocktail will agree… that was something special! 🍸
To our Premium Partner Avantgarde Living and Community Partner 360 Fitness, Health & Wellbeing - Melton Mowbray — having local businesses believe in an idea when it’s still new means such a lot. Your support genuinely helped us make this day happen.
And a HUGE thank you to every single person and business who donated a prize to our Dementia UK raffle. We were genuinely blown away by the generosity shown to us. You gave us some incredible prizes and helped turn a little raffle into something that has raised a fantastic amount of money for a charity that means so much to us.
And then there’s all of you.
Every ticket bought. Every raffle ticket. Every donation. Every person who danced, chatted to someone new, came over to say hello or told us they’d had a great time.
Thank you.
Because this was never just about putting on another event. I want McCue The Music to become a community — somewhere people can come together through great music, meet new people and have an amazing time while we’re at it.
Saturday felt like the beginning of that. đź’™
And somehow, while having all that fun, you’ve also helped us raise an incredible £746.00 so far for Dementia UK
I still have a few more donations to collect, so I’m going to leave the fundraiser open until Friday and then I’ll share our final total.
And finally, congratulations to Heath Palfrey who went home with our amazing star raffle prize! 🎉
I came away from Saturday tired, slightly overwhelmed, but mostly just incredibly grateful.
To everyone who helped, performed, supported, sponsored, donated, bought a ticket or simply turned up and embraced what we were trying to create…
Thank you for taking a chance on us.
Welcome to the McCue The Music community. đź’™
This is the start of something special in Melton.
Love
Andrea & Steve
