Did you know Hawkwind alumni Robert Calvert (who served as lyricist and lead singer for a time) was raised in Margate's Arlington House? He also famously contributed to the writing of the seminal space rock classic, Silver Machine

Freak Out is back for our big summer event! Last June we managed to pack out the Arts Club with a night filled to the brim with 60s and 70s hard rock, so lets see if we can do it again!

But how can we make this night even better?

How about FREE ENTRY!! Anyone coming in before 9pm will be treated to free entry for the entire night!!

We will also be working with other businesses or events on the night to help folk get in as well!

Make sure you reserve a free ticket as early as you can!

Tickets will be ยฃ5 after 9pm entry, so make sure you get down early!

Our photobooth and sleaze horror fest will also be making a come back, including our now infamous dress up box

Expect to hear the likes of Sabbath, Mountain, Dio, Led Zep, Coven, Hawkwind, Budgie, a whole host of witch fronted occult rock and loads more!

Thank you all so much! We had an absolute blast spinning some more early metal and doom for you guys! And of course thank...

This friday at the first .thanet of 2026, we will be reopening our craft table! Designed as a bit of fun and a bit of an ice breaker

Come and make a magical matchbox at the craft table โœจ๏ธ a talisman you can fit in your pocket and a home for tiny treasures. ๐Ÿ’ซ

There's enough collage materials to design your own surreal album art as well!

The projector returns next week! We will be playing the Karnstein trilogy, in honour of local legends playing earlier that night at

Unfortunately we won't be able to make their show (with putting on Freak Out!) but will be playing this as a close runner up!

Fancy a pallete cleanser after the show? Then pop down!

Sir Lord Baltimore - Kingdom Come (1970)

A gritty heavy psych and proto metal gem, Kingdom Come sits neatly in that space between heavy metal and psychedelic rock that signals where heavy music was going at the turn of the decade. In the story of heavy metal, they would never reach the same height of fame as their Sabbath contemporaries, but were absolutely part of that same seismic shift that pushed the limits of volume and aggression at the time before it was even named. Underrated, but essential in the history of heavy metal
