For 15 years I wrote & directed children’s television at the BBC, helping to bring stories to life.

It might seem like an unusual path into wedding photography but it taught me some of the most valuable skills I use every single wedding.

Storytelling. Staying calm when everything changes.

Spotting moments before they happen. Working to tight deadlines. Organising fast moving days.

Building trust with people in front of the camera.

The cameras are different now but the goal is the same. I’ve always wanted to tell stories that make people feel something.

Turns out children’s telly was the perfect training ground after all.

EMILY & LAWRENCE

Oh my, what a perfect day at Pembroke Lodge.

From our very first conversation, I knew Emily & Lawrence’s wedding was going to be filled with joy, laughter and excitement. It didn’t disappoint.

Emily looked incredible in her gown from The Boutique & Co. The floral detailing on her shrug echoed the blooms on her veil and I have to admit, I’m completely obsessed.

Her bouquet by • LeAnn Newlin • Organic Flowers • Indianapolis• was a work of art, full of beautiful texture and somehow smelled just as incredible as it looked.

After their beautiful outdoor ceremony, Emily & Lawrence were waved off by their guests as they took a quiet drive together. Naturally, I couldn’t resist hopping in too.

As the evening light softened, we escaped into the gardens for golden hour before heading back for the cake cut and cèilidh. It may have been one of the hottest days of the year but that certainly didn’t stop their guests having the best time on the dance floor.

Emily & Lawrence, huge congratulations to you both! Thank you for inviting me along to capture your epic day.

MEGAN & MATTHEW

This fab day took place at the beautiful Nunsmere Hall Hotel and was full of laughter, happy tears and epic dance moves.

With the weather dry enough for their outdoor ceremony to go ahead, Megan & Matthew got married in front of the venue’s pond which was so lovely! As their little girls walked down the aisle, they saw their dad and ran over to give him the biggest hug. I think everyone was crying at that point.

Afterwards, we gathered indoors for confetti only to find it had gone missing! Luckily, I always keep some emergency confetti in my car, so I nipped out to get it and the moment could still go ahead. Huzzah!

A delicious meal was followed by a wander down to the jetty, just in time for the most gorgeous golden light. The perfect opportunity for a drone shot too.

We got back just in time for the first dance and afterwards, the dance floor erupted and everyone was just having the best time.

An epic day for the loveliest couple. It was so much fun to share your big day with you.

CHLOE & BEN

The worst of last week’s heatwave timed itself perfectly, easing off the day before Chloe & Ben’s wedding. It was still gloriously warm, but thankfully much more manageable for everyone.

Along with their toddler son, Chloe & Ben celebrated with all of their favourite people and what a day it was.

After the speeches, the whole wedding paused to witness a fiercely competitive game of beer pong. Safe to say, things got pretty lively and resulted in Chloe’s team being crowned the victorious champions. Ben courageously took every drink for his team and was no doubt feeling slightly queasy afterwards.

It was such a joy to spend the day with this wonderful little family and capture every laugh, cuddle and some rather questionable beer pong techniques. Congratulations!

GINA AND MICHAEL

We had such beautiful weather for Gina & Michael’s big day at Goldsborough Hall | North Yorkshire Wedding Venue . I think this wonderful couple partly booked me because of my obsession with dogs and I was very happy to oblige, especially when I found out that Rupert and Teddy would be joining us. Such good boys, they were exceptional ring bearers and so well behaved during the ceremony.

They also joined us for the couples’ photos and it’s safe to say we’re now officially besties.

Something else that I loved about this day were the florals on the cake. Gina asked Kean Ong to match her centrepieces and the blooms created were so realistic, I had to have a little touch to confirm they were in fact made out of sugar.

As evening fell, the newlyweds and I ventured upstairs to enjoy some cake in the tub (fully clothed of course). Having such a playful and enthusiastic couple is always so much fun as we bounce ideas off one another and the photos become a joyful collaboration.

On the dancefloor, Gina surprised us all by joining the band for a saxophone solo which was very impressive and the perfect way to get the party started.

Huge congratulations to you both. I had the best time celebrating with you and we must definitely arrange a doggy playdate soon.

Sharing this fabulous Parisian elopement with Lydie & Romain, captured on both digital and 35mm film.

I could never choose between the two. Together, they tell the story in a way neither could on its own.

SUMMER

Sharing a few 35mm film frames from my recent holiday with the family.

The last time I photographed a holiday on film was a girls’ trip, just after we finished our A-levels. It was so long ago that they sold disposable waterproof film cameras and digital cameras were only just becoming affordable.

I know these photos will be treasured because it’s my family and little ones don’t stay small for long but film seems to make them feel even more special. Maybe it’s the grain, maybe it’s the wait to get them back. Whatever it is, I’m here for it.

CHÂTEAU CHALLAIN

Rising from the Loire countryside, French Chateau Wedding Venue feels suspended between history and imagination. A château worthy of its own fairytale; its soaring towers, expansive grounds and richly detailed interiors invite visitors to wander, explore and linger a little longer.

EMMA & JACK

It was such a joy to join Emma and Jack as they celebrated their marriage within the community that has been part of their story for so many years.

Emma got ready at their home, while Jack spent the morning at his parents’ house, just across the road.

Following a beautiful service at their local church, we made the most of the glorious weather and stunning architecture, using the church grounds for family photographs and a short couples session before heading to for their reception.

As sun set, we were treated to the most gorgeous golden hour. Following a champagne spray and a few quiet moments together, the newlyweds invited all of their friends to join us for a photograph. The lads strolled up the hill singing and that same energy followed them straight onto the dance floor.

Wishing you both so much happiness as you begin this next chapter together. Congratulations!
