🌻 The name is often used for this festival, but although Lughnasadh and Lammas take place at the same time, and celebrate early harvest...

🌻 ... Lughnasadh and Lammas have different cultural origins: Lammas was the name used by the Anglo-Saxons, who wove Christian beliefs and practices into the pre-existing celebration.

If you’re looking for a ritual which is simple, but deeply symbolic - an oathing stone ceremony might be perfect for you ✨

Oathing is a wonderful Scottish tradition, during which a couple holds an oathing stone between their hands while making their promises to “set them in stone” 🪨

Oathing can be combined with saying vows, or handfasting, to bring extra meaning and depth to the commitments 💫

This beautiful and uncomplicated act evokes a sense of history and ancient ancestry, and also brings connection to the land around you - especially if your stone has been collected from a place that is local or meaningful to you 🫶

You can buy wonderful, hand-painted stones from creators like Celticoathingstones, and can also paint or carve your own with significant symbols 🌀

LGBTQ+ PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AND CELEBRATED HERE 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Just in case it isn’t already clear, fellow LGBTQ+ people are ALWAYS welcome and celebrated here; sometimes, as a q***r person myself, I can take for granted the assumption that everyone already knows that this is the case...
.. but in light of recent reports of anti-LGBTQ+ prejudice in the wedding industry, I want to make this abundantly clear:

THIS IS A SAFE AND NURTURING SPACE FOR LGBTQ+ TO-BE WEDS 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

My wife and I were incredibly lucky to find beautiful, affirming professionals when planning our own wedding - but we still have a few uncomfortable stories to tell:

Wedding fair suppliers would ask who the bride was;

A man walked into our wedding reception venue, while we were setting up, and asked which one of us was the bride - when we told him that we both were, he shouted: “Woah, double wedding! Where are the grooms so that I can congratulate them?”

To play my part in making the industry more inclusive, I am committed to lifelong community-led learning and always strive to serve the community in the best way possible.

As part of this, I have completed training & CPD courses with:

🏳️‍🌈 LGBT Foundation
🏳️‍🌈 Mermaids
🏳️‍🌈 Stonewall
🏳️‍🌈 Amnesty International

and continue to learn and grow as a community member and ally.

So, if you are LGBTQ+ to-be-weds, and are looking for a celebrant who will support, celebrate and uplift you - I’ve got you.

I’m grateful to witness so much kindness, support, and natural inclusion in the little corner of the wedding industry that I inhabit - and I promise there are lots more people like this waiting to support you with your wedding planning journey.
