Based in Norfolk, UK, Liza Read is an artist working at the intersection of holography, science and sculpture. Trained by the late great holography pioneer Fred Unterseher in San Francisco, she now collaborates with Iñaki Beguiristain in the UK, pushing the colour boundaries of Denisyuk analogue glass plate holograms.

In To Hell and Back, her solo show at Gallery 286 London, Read reimagined Dante’s Inferno, casting contemporary humanity into the nine circles of Hell to explore moral and ecological collapse.

Her mixed media works combine familiar and tactile surfaces to encourage your intimate exploration, revealing the embedded hologram as a surprise element. When topped with a very large dollop of humour, Read’s artworks elevate analogue holograms into engaging, hands on personal experiences.

Catch her upcoming new show at Holographic Studios NYC in August 2025.

A brilliant new multi-media exhibition in a nineteenth-century former warehouse on London’s southbank, deals with both our environmental concerns and fascination with outerspace.

“Garbage Princess” by Klaudia Olender
Come and see this fantastic live performance on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st of Feb at 6pm on Mars & Beyond Immersive ArtShow.

“'Garbage Princess” was born in my dream. At the beginning of the year I had this dream of woman walking by the river. She was really sad, walking slowly. She was dressed up in a heavy dress made out of plastic. She was dragging along heavy pieces of rubbish from the sea... This image left me speechless. I woke up and for a few good months I was thinking about that dream. I relised that this woman was Mother Nature. Whenever I worry about something it comes to my dreams. As on a consious level I wasn't able to understand that I am deeply terrified by plastic pollution and I feel for mother nature” - Klaudia Olender, director/actress

as a live performance
The Garbage Princess is a young woman dressed up in a Victorian dress made out of plastic items, from a toothbrush to milk containers. She symbolises Mother Earth. As a street performance is intended to bring awareness of plastic and waste pollution by facing the problem through engaging with Mother Earth herself. Personalizing her should make it easier to understand and make this big elusive topic more accessible. With the live performance we focus on a solution to the problem by connecting. Connection is a rare good in this fast pacing time dominated by digitisation. But it is people that can make the change. People that interact and work together.
