⭐️Meet The Speakers! We welcome SUE TERRY to
Florence Farr and the Magical Imagination
Saturday 5th July. Venue: The College of Psychic Studies

⭐SUE introduces us to Florence's magical writing and her use of literature to induce transformational states and women's empowerment.
⭐Sue will discuss how Florence weaves her deep knowledge of Golden Dawn ritual into her satirical novel of high society, ‘The Dancing Faun’, in a plot involving bad marriages, exploitation and even murder, to create a story of powerful initiation and women’s independence through magical contact with the Ancient Egyptian spirit of Isis.

⭐Sue has a PhD in occult literary modernism, focusing on magical novels by early 20th-century women writers, including Florence Farr.
⭐Sue is a writer, researcher, lecturer and conference speaker with wide interests in the Domestic Occult, literature and the weird. She runs Owl House Seminars, hosting events from weird fiction to ghosts, ley hunters, UFOs, urban high strangeness and practical skills in tarot and numerology.

⭐️Meet The Speakers! We welcome CAROLINE WISE to
Florence Farr and the Magical Imagination

⭐️Caroline will lead a practical session on Florence Farr’s 'Scrying in the Spirit Vision'.

⭐Caroline Wise is the previous owner of Atlantis bookshop and she worked for Psychic News; she is an author and lecturer on magical women pioneers, including Florence Farr and Pamela Colman Smith, on whom Caroline has lectured at the College of Psychic Studies.
⭐Caroline produced Florence Farr's Egyptian themed plays in 1993, after receiving instructions during a séance, raising over £2,000 for a breast cancer charity. She has produced several Florence Farr ritual readings and events since.
⭐She co-edited 'The Secret Lore of London' with John Matthews and runs tours of the mythic city of London, the British Museum and the Magical Revival.

⭐️Meet The Speakers! We welcome JACQUI McINTOSH to
Florence Farr and the Magical Imagination
Saturday 5th July. Venue: The College of Psychic Studies

⭐Jacqui McIntosh will discuss the life and work of the important British artist and occultist artist Ithell Colquhoun, her interests in the Golden Dawn, the poet W.B.Yeats and his esoteric milieu, and Ithell’s interaction with goddess spirituality in Ireland.

⭐Jacqui is Archivist and Curator of The College of Psychic Studies' large collection of spirit-inspired art, photography and artefacts, dating from 1850 to the present day.
Jacqui's independent research encompasses feminist, mediumistic and esoteric histories, with a particular interest in artists whose spiritual development has evolved in tandem with their artistic output.
⭐Jacqui's current research areas include Ithell Colquhoun's drawings and works on paper. From 2023-2024 Jacqui was a recipient of a Curatorial Research Grant from Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art and curated the exhibition The Time of Our Lives (Drawing Room, 2024).

⭐️Antonia will be Exploring Florence's Egyptian Magic in Theory and Practice. Expect a fascinating introduction to aspects of Florence's magical practice and her knowledge of the historical background of the mystery religions of Ancient Egypt that informed it.

⭐️Antonia is an independent researcher currently living in London. She holds a degree in Cultural Theory and German Literature from Humboldt University, Berlin.

Florence Farr and the Magical Imagination
Saturday 5th July. Venue: The College of Psychic Studies

⭐️Andrew will reveal Florence's connections to Victorian Gothic, including references to Bram Stoker's novel 'The Jewel of Seven Stars', through Victorian perceptions of the Ancient Egyptian goddess Sobekneferu and Egyptian gods, mummies and magic, before moving forward to the work of important British occultist Kenneth Grant in the 1950s.

⭐️Andrew Collins is an author, lecturer, conference speaker and television personality; his work explores the ancient world, the origins of spirituality and cosmologies. His 2023 book 'The First Female Pharaoh: Sobekneferu, Goddess of the Seven Stars' led to a remarkable link with Florence Farr and her ‘Egyptian Adept’.
