Sometimes elegance is knowing when to let softness lead. Here, pampas grasses float like gathered feathers, which weightless, airy, moving with a grace that makes even crystal seem humble. 🪶💫 This is what happens when nature becomes the luxury: quiet, sculptural, impossibly refined.

Nature doesn‘t arrange itself in straight lines. These stems bend, curve, and stretch toward light with an intelligence no hand can fully replicate. We simply follow their lead. 🎨🌸✨

Sweet peas (used in this design) didn’t just inspire geneticists - they taught us how inheritance actually works.

In the early 1900s, Reginald Punnett chose sweet peas because they had clearly observable traits: purple or white flowers, tall or short stems. He could cross-breed them and track exactly what the offspring inherited.

When Punnett crossed a purple sweet pea with a white one, patterns emerged - some offspring were purple, some white, in predictable ratios (3:1, to be exact).

They offer quick reproduction, allowing scientists to observe multiple generations in a short time. Punnett could test his theories about dominant and recessive genes over and over.

By meticulously tracking which traits appeared in which generation, Punnett helped prove Mendel’s laws of inheritance and developed those famous squares that map genetic probability.

Not just a pretty flower after all...

Such sweet sorrow. We will miss the scandals, side eyes, and stiff upper lips. 🥲

There’s a symphony of blooms orchestrating our world. Listen closely and you’ll hear it: the spray as we douse ourselves in distilled jasmine, the pin-drop silence...as we fasten poppies to commemorate war, the e-commerce ‼️KA-CHING ‼️ as we trend with the cherry blossoms. 🌸 Every gesture and inspiration becomes participation in an ancient conversation that’s been written in the language of flowers for centuries. Significance is woven into the shape of things that bloom. Culture and nature perform an elaborate dance of mutual discovery where each claims dominance while being utterly dependent on the other’s gaze.

FLOWERS – FLORA IN CONTEMPORARY ART & CULTURE, SUMMER SEASON 30 May - 31 August

The future of fashion is circular, conscious, and blooming.

This year, as circular luxury reshapes fashion’s future, we’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with Patrick McDowell - a designer whose vision extends far beyond the atelier.

His relationship with flowers and the natural world transcends mere aesthetics; it’s an intimate dialogue between memory, heritage, and creative meaning.

Those signature green and white palettes you’ve noticed we use when working with him? They’re not coincidence - they’re deeply intentional.

From the 70% of consumers now making sustainability a shopping priority to luxury brands embracing repair, rental, and regenerative practices, 2025 has been about more than just changing what we wear - it’s been about transforming how we think about beauty.

We caught up with Patrick in his studio to unpick what it means to be “IN BLOOM” in an industry finally learning to grow thoughtfully as he leads the way.

Comment “Patrick” to watch.

Reel filmed at to celebrate Patrick receiving this year’s Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.

Floral Engineers

We are a visionary florist studio rooted in the craft of master floristry. We design and build inventive and immersive floral masterpieces, forging a reputation for meticulous service, creative excellence and an environmentally conscious approach.

We champion local and rare specimens of flowers and foliage for our installations, foraged from the British countryside. Flowers that are found further afield are sourced from our relationships with small, independent growers in the UK, Holland and Germany.

We strive to deliver exceptional quality with boundless creative scope, unearthing the wonder of our evolving natural environment.
